Job Description
Graphic Designers, Editorial Designers & Art Directors. We are seeking experienced Graphic Designers, Editorial Designers, Layout Designers, Publication Designers, Brand Designers, and Art Directors to contribute to a remote AI project focused on evaluating professional visual design work. You will review posters, covers, page layouts, brand materials, and other design outputs, determine which options best satisfy a creative brief, identify visual and production issues, and clearly explain the reasoning behind your decisions. What You’ll Do Evaluate hierarchy, typography, spacing, alignment, color, composition, and visual balance. Assess how text, imagery, illustration, and other visual elements work together. Identify weak design decisions and explain how they affect readability, clarity, or visual impact. Check whether designs appropriately follow the creative brief, brand guidelines, or publication style. Review production readiness and identify issues involving resolution, dimensions, margins, file formats, or print color. Compare multiple design options and provide concise, defensible recommendations. Identify inconsistencies across multi-page layouts, campaigns, or branded materials. We also welcome Editorial Designers, Layout Designers, Publication Designers, Magazine Designers, and Book Designers. Art direction backgrounds may include Art Directors, Associate Art Directors, Creative Directors, and Visual Art Directors with hands-on design experience. Print backgrounds may include Print Designers, Packaging Designers, Production Designers, and Prepress Designers. Additional relevant backgrounds include Marketing Designers, Advertising Designers, Presentation Designers, Digital Designers, and Creative Professionals who regularly evaluate visual communication. Requirements Professional experience as a Graphic Designer, Editorial Designer, Layout Designer, Publication Designer, Brand Designer, Art Director, or closely related creative professional. Daily or frequent professional use of InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, or comparable tools. Strong understanding of typography, layout, hierarchy, spacing, color, and composition. Experience preparing production-ready design files. Ability to identify technical and visual issues in finished or near-finished designs. Ability to compare creative options and clearly explain which is stronger and why. Strong attention to detail. Preferred Background Professional experience in editorial design, graphic design, branding, art direction, or publication design. Experience designing magazines, reports, books, brochures, posters, campaigns, packaging, or branded communications. Experience working with grid systems, typography systems, and multi-page documents. Experience with print production, prepress, and final artwork preparation. Experience working with brand guidelines and visual identity systems. Experience conducting design reviews, creative critiques, or quality assurance. This opportunity is ideal for experienced designers who can look at two visual options, immediately identify which one communicates more effectively, detect subtle problems in typography, spacing, hierarchy, or production quality, and clearly explain the reasoning behind their judgment. We are a referral partner of the client.
