Job Description

Company Description Founded in 2023, BLoSH is a fast-growing algorithmic trading firm providing liquidity to digital currency markets. We have quickly established a strong presence in the crypto markets, trading significant volumes across exchanges worldwide. Our success comes from a talented team and a straightforward structure that allows us to move quickly and turn ideas into production. We value technical curiosity, creative thinking and taking initiative. Our high-frequency trading system is built in Rust and runs on AWS. It processes billions of real-time market updates and executes millions of orders per day across hundreds of markets and multiple cryptocurrency exchanges. We are looking for a HFT Software Engineer passionate about high-performance software to help build and optimize our trading infrastructure. We welcome applications from graduates, junior developers and experienced engineers. Role description This is a full-time, on-site position based in Amsterdam. You will develop and optimize performance-critical components of our trading infrastructure in Rust. Working closely with software engineers and quantitative analysts, you will build new functionality and improve existing systems across market data processing, exchange connectivity and order execution. Your work will involve: Developing high-performance, low-latency software in Rust. Building and improving real-time data processing and execution systems. Working with concurrency, networking and asynchronous programming. Profiling, benchmarking and optimizing system performance. Designing and implementing new system components. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, enjoys solving complex technical problems and is motivated to push improvements into production. You should be comfortable making technical decisions and challenging existing solutions. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with 2+ years of professional experience, or a Master's degree in a related field. Strong experience in a systems language without a garbage collector (Rust, C++ or C), ideally on performance- or latency-sensitive software. Solid fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, operating systems and networking. Good understanding of CPU internals, including the cache hierarchy and branch prediction, and of how they affect performance. Good understanding of memory allocation and data layout. Understanding of assembly and what happens when code compiles. Experience with concurrency, asynchronous programming and Linux. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication skills and attention to detail. Nice to have Production Rust experience, including unsafe Rust. Knowledge of SIMD, NUMA and compiler optimizations. Experience with lock-free data structures, atomics and custom allocators. Low-latency networking and Linux tuning: kernel bypass, CPU pinning, TCP/UDP/WebSockets. Experience with profiling and benchmarking, and with AWS. Experience in financial markets is not required, but an interest in the subject is. This position is on-site in Amsterdam. Relocation support is available only for senior-level candidates. Junior candidates must already be based in the Netherlands or be able and willing to relocate independently. Visa sponsorship may be available for eligible candidates who are already residing in the Netherlands. We offer a challenging technical role, a direct and informal work environment, a salary above market average and a yearly performance bonus. Are you looking for a fast-paced environment where technical ability and results matter more than seniority? Interested? Please send a short cover letter (applications without a cover letter will not be considered) and your CV to [email protected]. BLoSH is committed to promoting and nurturing a diverse and inclusive work environment. We believe that diversity in our employees contributes to the quality of our results. We encourage applicants of every background and identity to apply.
