Company Description Helixis helps organizations gain control over information security so they can confidently focus on delivering high-quality products and services to their customers. The company conducts comprehensive information security assessments and translates the outcomes into risk-based roadmaps that enable rapid improvement of security measures. Helixis supports organizations during the implementation of these roadmaps by providing CISO-as-a-service and project management expertise. In addition, Helixis runs awareness campaigns to inform and engage employees about the risks and opportunities related to information security across the entire organization. Role Description As an Information Security Officer at Helixis, you will be responsible for guiding clients in strengthening their information security posture through assessments, risk analyses, and implementation support. In this full-time hybrid role, based in Rotterdam and The Hague with flexibility to work from home, you will design and maintain information security policies, oversee ISMS processes, and support clients in achieving compliance with relevant standards and regulations. You will collaborate with client stakeholders to translate assessment results into practical, risk-based roadmaps and monitor progress on security initiatives. Your day-to-day work will include advising on cybersecurity and data privacy controls, coordinating business continuity planning, and contributing to internal and external awareness campaigns. You will also prepare concise reports and presentations, participate in project meetings, and provide clear, actionable guidance to both technical and non-technical audiences. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Information Security Management and Information Security Management System (ISMS) skills, including policy development and implementation. Candidates should possess solid Cybersecurity skills, such as understanding of threat landscapes, technical controls, and incident response principles. Candidates should possess Business Continuity skills, including risk assessment, continuity planning, and recovery strategy support. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Lead Auditor, CIPP/E) are highly beneficial. Experience advising multiple organizations or working in a consultancy or ISO-as-a-service context is an advantage. Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex security topics in clear language.

Core Responsibilities

Guide clients in improving information security through assessments, risk analyses, and implementation support, including developing policies, overseeing ISMS processes, and supporting compliance. Turn assessment findings into practical risk-based roadmaps, monitor security initiatives, advise on cybersecurity and privacy controls, coordinate business continuity planning, and deliver reports and awareness campaigns.

Requirements

Candidates should have strong information security management and ISMS experience, solid cybersecurity knowledge, and business continuity planning skills. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor, or CIPP/E are beneficial; consultancy experience and strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills are also valued.
