Job Description

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer Flow & Thermal, you take ownership of complex mechanical engineering challenges and translate system requirements into robust design solutions for advanced high-tech equipment. In this role, you support our customers in the high-tech industry with developing cutting-edge equipment, both in the Brainport region and internationally. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a Flow & Thermal specialization, you play a key role in multidisciplinary development teams where thermal behaviour, gas and liquid flow, cooling performance, stability and manufacturability are critical to product success. Working together with experts in mechanics, mechatronics, electronics, software and physics, you contribute to innovative solutions for advanced lithography systems, electron microscopes and medical equipment. What excites you as a Senior Mechanical Engineer Flow & Thermal From our location in Eindhoven or sometimes at our clients' premises you like to keep yourself busy with: Translating requirements and specifications into mechanical designs and engineering solutions, with specific focus on heat transfer, cooling concepts, flow behaviour and thermal stability. Developing and detailing mechanical designs for modules and subsystems in which Flow & Thermal performance is a key driver. Performing engineering activities such as calculations, analyses, technical trade-offs and interpretation of simulation and test results. Identifying and mitigating technical risks related to pressure loss, leakage, condensation, hot spots, thermal drift and contamination-sensitive flow paths. Ensuring designs are manufacturable, testable, serviceable, reliable and cost-effective through the application of DfX principles. Collaborating with Architects, Analysts, suppliers and fellow Engineers to translate thermal and flow requirements into practical and robust design solutions. Sound good so far? We'd love to tell you more... Your future workplace This is what you bring to the table A BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics or a comparable technical discipline. At least 7 years of experience in the development of high-tech, mechatronic or precision mechanical systems. Proven experience with Flow & Thermal topics such as cooling concepts, heat transfer, thermal stability, gas and liquid flow or pressure loss. Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals including precision design, tolerance awareness, verification, DfX and technical feasibility assessments. The ability to translate simulation outcomes and test results into concrete design improvements. Strong communication skills and the ability to support colleagues and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary teams. This is what you can expect in return from Sioux flexible 32-40 hour working week, with room to work from home. A healthy work-life balance is very important to us, we have 28 holidays with an option to acquire an additional 12 holidays. You will work with passionate colleagues who share your drive for technology and business success. By combining our expertise in software, electronics, mechanics, mechatronics, mathematics and assembly, we make the impossible possible for our customers – working on challenging high-tech projects. You get a lot of freedom and responsibility; after all, you know exactly what you are doing. Personal coaching and a training budget of €6000 per year, so you can keep developing yourself. We also find it important to have fun together, this means everything from family festivals and sparkling Christmas parties, to inspiring knowledge sessions for the high-tech community. You will be working on the Sioux Campus in the heart of the Brainport region, with daily access to our Sioux Labs living room for lunch, sports, making music, or sharing knowledge in one of our Tech Labs. High Tech & High Fun We can tell you all about the typical Sioux culture and the challenging high-tech projects. About how you can develop yourself like nowhere else. But we prefer to leave this to our own colleagues. Go to testimonials > If you want to know more about our challenging projects, please click here. Important note: This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the US Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require Sioux to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
