Job Description
At Genmab, we are dedicated to building extra[not]ordinary® futures, together, by developing antibody products and groundbreaking, knock-your-socks-off KYSO antibody medicines® that change lives and the future of cancer treatment and serious diseases. We strive to create, champion and maintain a global workplace where individuals’ unique contributions are valued and drive innovative solutions to meet the needs of our patients, care partners, families and employees. Our people are compassionate, candid, and purposeful, and our business is innovative and rooted in science. We believe that being proudly authentic and determined to be our best is essential to fulfilling our purpose. Yes, our work is incredibly serious and impactful, but we have big ambitions, bring a ton of care to pursuing them, and have a lot of fun while doing so. Does this inspire you and feel like a fit? Then we would love to have you join us! Role The Analytical Method Development (AMD) team is part of Analytical Development within CMC Product Development. The team develops biochemical and molecular assays that support manufacturing process development, pilot-scale manufacturing and future quality control activities at designated GMP sites. We are looking for a laboratory professional who is genuinely enthusiastic about hands-on experimental work and is motivated to build their expertise in a predominantly lab-based role. The majority of your time will be spent in the laboratory, performing experiments. The remainder of your time will be dedicated to data analysis, interpretation, documentation and discussing results with colleagues. Working alongside scientists and fellow research associates, you will coordinate laboratory activities for multiple projects simultaneously. You will be joining a group of down-to-earth colleagues who value openness, collaboration and a good sense of humour. We work closely together and enjoy supporting one another, while embracing the fact that priorities in drug development can change quickly and no two weeks are exactly the same. We are therefore looking for someone who enjoys a dynamic environment, stays flexible when plans shift, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work. If you enjoy being hands-on in the lab, have a keen eye for detail, and like being part of a supportive team that celebrates successes together, we look forward to receiving your application! Are you interested in developing your skills and gaining valuable experience within an international biotech company? We look forward to receiving your CV and motivation letter. Responsibilities As a Research Associate in AMD, you will join scientists and research associates developing and qualifying new methods, contributing to assay development for one of our clinical candidates. Your work will support our growth ambitions and expanding pipeline of new antibody products. Your responsibilities will include: Working with scientists and research associates to establish new assays and to monitor their performance by proper trending. Conducting experiments, interpreting data and documenting results for assigned studies. Sharing findings with colleagues within the team and across departments. Proactively identifying ways to improve method robustness, efficiency, data quality and scientific relevance, while supporting continuous improvement of team processes. Requirements You are motivated to contribute your current knowledge of molecular biology, protein biochemistry and related techniques to our team. You conduct experiments and document results accurately and precisely. You communicate effectively, take a service-oriented approach and adapt to changing priorities and unexpected workloads. You work well both independently and as part of a team. Specifically, we ask the following of you: You have a BSc (HLO) or MSc degree in a life science-related field and at least one year of relevant hands-on laboratory experience (industry or academia). Knowledge of and experience with some binding assays (ELISA- and SPR-based) and impurity assays (dPCR-, ELISA- and HTRF-based) - primary focus. Knowledge of and experience with at least some biochemical technologies, such as absorbance spectroscopy, capillary electrophoresis (CE-SDS and icIEF) and analytical chromatography (HPLC) - secondary focus, based on priorities. You have basic statistical knowledge (ideally hands-on with GraphPad and/or JMP). You are highly organized and motivated to produce high-quality documentation. You can work on several projects in parallel and adjust priorities appropriately. You are a team player with a proactive attitude and a can-do mentality. You are fluent in English. This is an onsite role in Utrecht. You are currently living in the Netherlands and you are eligible to work in the Netherlands without needing to apply for a permit.
