Vacancy: Senior Project Manager (Strategic Capability Projects - Beyond Beer Category In-House Production)

Temporary position for the duration of the project

Would you like to take responsibility for one of the largest projects ever undertaken at our brewery? Are you an exceptional stakeholder manager who knows how to inspire people and bring them together to make this a great success?

How? As a Senior Project Manager (Strategic Capability Projects)
Why? Because you want to combine your passion for complexity, stakeholder alignment, strategy, project leadership, and technology at one of the most iconic breweries in the Netherlands.
Where? At our Brewery in Enschede
With whom? A multidisciplinary team consisting of colleagues from Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Commercial, Procurement, and Finance.

As a Senior Project Manager (Strategic Capability Projects)...

...you will ensure that complex strategic investment projects, including the implementation of in-house production capabilities for the Beyond Beer category, are successfully managed and delivered to future-proof our production site.

How? By taking responsibility for the entire project lifecycle, from the initial concept, budgeting and design phases through to execution and handover to the business. Particular focus will be placed on implementing new capabilities within an existing brownfield environment. As Senior Project Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary team consisting of colleagues from Packaging, Brewing, Supply Chain, Safety, Warehouse, Engineering, Finance, Quality, Automation, Procurement, and external partners.

You will be ultimately accountable for multi-million-euro CAPEX projects that enable the production of new products and contribute to the optimal performance of our production site. In addition, the role plays a key part in the transformation of our brewery into a total beverage production facility.

The primary project you will lead is the establishment of in-house production capabilities for the Beyond Beer category, covering the full value chain from liquid production and packaging to inventory management and delivery of various SKUs to our customers. Depending on business priorities, additional projects may also fall under your responsibility.

In this highly responsible position, you will ensure project objectives are achieved within agreed timelines, budgets, quality standards, and safety requirements. You will report within Engineering to the Team Manager Projects & Automation.

What you will also do

  • Functionally lead your (temporary) project team members, acting as both coach and mentor while fostering a high-performance project culture;
  • Define project objectives and establish, monitor, and safeguard project specifications in line with operational requirements, performance standards, applicable legislation, and other relevant standards, including the preparation of RFQ and RFI documentation for tendering processes;
  • Manage communication with stakeholders, including steering committees, regarding project progress, risks, and challenges;
  • Oversee the financial management of the overall project;
  • Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) to ensure successful commissioning and start-up;
  • Monitor project planning and execution, ensuring continuous compliance with quality and safety standards.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager who is eager to take ownership of impactful, strategic, and complex projects and who excels at stakeholder management.

You are a true team player who is confident, resilient, and energized by leading projects in complex environments. With your strong expertise, conceptual thinking, communication skills, and powers of persuasion, you successfully engage both internal and external stakeholders.

When required, you provide inspiring and motivating functional leadership to experienced teams, always with the goal of improving the performance and effectiveness of our production site. During demanding periods, you maintain oversight, make sound decisions, and ensure project objectives are delivered.

What do we expect to see on your CV?

  • A completed Bachelor's and/or Master's degree, preferably in Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline;
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant Project Management experience within the food and beverage industry (FMCG) or a comparable manufacturing environment;
  • A formal Project Management qualification is an advantage;
  • Strong knowledge and experience in establishing and expanding production facilities in both greenfield and brownfield environments;
  • Knowledge of at least one manufacturing process is essential.
