Internship Business Performance & Planning

Are you a Master’s student with a strong interest in finance, data analytics and business performance? Would you like to gain hands-on experience within an international financial organization and learn how financial insights are used to support strategic decision-making?

We are looking for an enthusiastic Business Performance & Planning Intern to join our Performance & Steering team within Allianz Benelux.

About the team

The Performance & Steering (P&S) team is part of the Finance Department of Allianz Benelux and plays an important role in steering the financial performance of the organization across the Benelux.

During your internship, you will work alongside experienced finance professionals and gain exposure to financial planning, performance management and strategic business topics. You will learn how financial data is translated into insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders across the organization.

What will you do?

As an intern, you will actively support the Performance & Steering team and work on topics such as:

• Performance analysis: Support the monitoring and analysis of financial KPIs and help identify relevant trends and developments.
• Management reporting: Help prepare analyses, reports and presentations that provide management with clear insights into business performance.
• Financial planning: Contribute to our financial planning and forecasting processes and learn how financial targets are developed and monitored.
• Data analysis: Combine and analyze financial data from different parts of the organization to create a broader view of our financial performance.
• Automation & AI: Explore opportunities to automate financial processes and use AI or data analytics to make reporting and analysis smarter and more efficient.
• Business insights: Support the team in translating complex financial information into clear and actionable insights.

Depending on your interests and study requirements, there may also be room to work on a specific research or improvement project during your internship.

Who are you?

We are looking for a curious and analytical student who is eager to learn and comfortable working with numbers and data.

You:

• Are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme, preferably in Finance, Econometrics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Economics or another quantitative field.
• Have strong analytical skills and enjoy working with financial and business data.
• Have an interest in financial performance, controlling, planning and/or business strategy.
• Are comfortable working with Excel; experience with Power BI, Python, R or SQL is a plus.
• Are interested in AI, automation and new ways of working with data.
• Are proactive, curious and not afraid to ask questions.
• Can communicate clearly and work effectively in an international environment.
• Are fluent in English; Dutch and/or French is a plus.
