About The Internship Alpine is looking for an R&D & Design Engineer Intern from early February until the end of June 2027, with the option to continue during July and August (as an extended internship or as a working student, by agreement). This is not a graduation internship or a self-directed project: you will work alongside the team on several projects at once, helping with a variety of tasks across all stages of product development. You will join the Research & Development department, the creative heart of Alpine, which focuses on product innovation, renovation and maintenance across the portfolio. You will work closely with experienced engineers and Product Managers and own your tasks within ongoing projects, with a mix of creative concepting, hands-on prototyping, user testing and project coordination. Your Tasks May Include Supporting the design and development of new and improved hearing protection products Building and testing prototypes to validate technical solutions Running user tests and collecting insights to drive improvements Working with internal stakeholders and external partners to take ideas from concept to market Assisting with project management and documentation within the R&D workflow About You Enrolled as a college or university student for the full internship period An EU citizen, or a non-EU student currently studying in the Netherlands Studying Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or a similar discipline Looking for a hands-on work placement (not a graduation assignment) and happy switching between tasks and projects Creative, curious and passionate about product design and innovation A positive, proactive learner who thrives in a dynamic team Available for at least 5 months, starting February 2027 What Alpine Offers A EUR 400 monthly internship allowance (based on full-time) Free lunch twice a week Thursday drinks, plus a monthly company Roadmap session followed by drinks An open, energetic, international scale-up culture where your ideas matter Apply by emailing [email protected] with your CV and a cover letter. Core Responsibilities

Support the design and development of new and improved hearing protection products, including building and testing prototypes and conducting user tests to inform product improvements. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners, and assist with project coordination and documentation throughout the R&D workflow.

Requirements

Applicants must be enrolled in college or university throughout the internship and study Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a similar discipline. They must be eligible to intern in the Netherlands, available for at least five months starting February 2027, and seeking a hands-on placement rather than a graduation assignment.
