About The Role As an Azure Data Engineer based in Woerden, you will play a key role in designing and building scalable, intelligent data solutions in the cloud. You will work with cutting-edge tools and platforms such as Python, PySpark, DBT, SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric to develop robust data pipelines, unlock data sources, and construct comprehensive data platforms. Your work will directly impact clients in various sectors by enabling data-driven decision-making and innovation. The Woerden office is part of the ilionx Midden region, fostering close collaboration across multiple locations and providing opportunities to contribute to regional strategies and propositions. This role offers flexibility in work location, allowing you to operate either from client sites or the Woerden office. You will have the freedom to select projects aligned with your interests, whether that involves building Snowflake platforms, participating in team assignments, or contributing to internal initiatives like ZorgControl or the ilionx Dataplatform. Career growth is strongly supported, with pathways available towards becoming a technical specialist, architect, trainer, or focusing on AI and data science. Qualifications Completed HBO or WO degree Minimum of 4 years of experience in BI and/or Data Engineering Proven experience with Data Engineering in Azure environments Strong knowledge of Python and Spark Familiarity with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, and Synapse Understanding of dimensional data modeling and logical modeling Knowledge of data architecture concepts such as Medallion and Mesh Forward-thinking mindset regarding AI opportunities Fluency in Dutch, both written and spoken Responsibilities Design and implement scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms Utilize tools such as Python, PySpark, DBT, and SQL to develop data solutions Work with Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Synapse platforms Unlock and integrate diverse data sources to enable comprehensive analytics Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams across multiple regional offices Contribute to both client projects and internal initiatives like ZorgControl and the ilionx Dataplatform Experiment with and incorporate new technologies, including generative AI Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team Take initiative to develop professionally and contribute to the team’s success Benefits Competitive salary range between €4,500 and €6,500 gross per month (based on 40 hours) plus bonus Comprehensive lease scheme for both car and bicycle Flexible and hybrid working environment with options for remote work Varied work assignments including external client projects and internal roles Focus on AI transition and opportunities to work with cutting-edge technologies Permanent contract with strong pension scheme Attractive employee benefits and bonus structure Home office allowance 25 vacation days plus flexible public holidays Regular social events, team outings, and informal gatherings Development opportunities tailored to your career ambitions Equal Opportunity Ilionx is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. Collaborate on client and internal projects, explore emerging technologies such as generative AI, and contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Requires a completed higher professional or university degree and at least four years of experience in BI and/or data engineering, including proven data engineering experience in Azure environments. Candidates should have strong Python and Spark skills, familiarity with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, and Synapse, knowledge of data modeling and architecture concepts, and fluency in written and spoken Dutch.
