Job Description

About Feel Group

At Feel Group, we build technology that connects physical intimacy with the digital world. Through Kiiroo, we create interactive sex toys that connect with apps, adult content, long-distance partners, and AI-powered experiences.

We're an international team based in Amsterdam Zuidas, with customers around the world. Our engineers, developers, designers, and product specialists work closely together, with a strong focus on quality, scalability, and user experience. We keep communication open and direct, and there's room to take on more as you grow.

Our Brands

  • FeelRobotics: application and platform development for IoT devices
  • FeelMe: AI-driven video recognition SaaS
  • Kiiroo: interactive sex toys and connected pleasure technology
  • Islive: one of the larger live streaming platforms in the Netherlands, with local performers and local-language content
  • LuxusAmsterdam: intimacy-enhancing devices for couples

The Role

We're looking for an Embedded Firmware Engineer to take ownership of the firmware that powers our devices, from first prototype to production.

This role goes beyond implementation. You'll shape the firmware architecture, make key technical decisions, and work closely with hardware engineering to bring new devices to life. You'll also make sure our firmware performs reliably in real-world conditions.

What Makes This Role Different

At Kiiroo, you'll work on interactive sex toys used with apps, interactive content, long-distance partnerplay, and AI-powered experiences. Your focus is the embedded firmware that powers our products, working alongside the teams responsible for the connected software and platforms.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop firmware for connected embedded devices from concept to production.
  • Own key parts of the firmware architecture and drive technical decisions.
  • Lead board bring-up and integrate firmware on new hardware, from first prototypes through each PCB revision.
  • Work with hardware engineers from the design phase onward: review schematics, pin assignments, and component choices with firmware in mind.
  • Develop and maintain drivers for MCU peripherals, sensors, and actuators (e.g., I²C, SPI, UART, ADC, PWM, timers).
  • Work closely with hardware, software, and product teams to make integration seamless.
  • Build and maintain low-level interfaces, communication layers, and system logic.
  • Optimize systems for performance, power efficiency, and reliability.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues in hardware-firmware interaction.
  • Support validation and manufacturing phases (EVT/DVT/PVT), including production test firmware, flashing, and calibration.
  • Contribute to testing strategies, code quality, and long-term maintainability.
  • Support product lifecycle activities including improvements and updates after release.

What You Bring

  • Strong experience developing firmware for embedded systems in production environments.
  • Solid proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming.
  • Deep understanding of microcontroller-based systems and hardware interaction.
  • Proven experience with board bring-up and integrating firmware on custom hardware.
  • Comfortable reading schematics, datasheets, and MCU reference manuals.
  • Hands-on with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power analyzers, and JTAG/SWD debuggers.
  • Experience working with real-time or timing-sensitive systems.
  • Solid knowledge of communication between embedded devices and external systems.
  • Ability to work within constraints such as limited memory, power, and processing resources.
  • Experience building reliable systems that operate in real-world conditions.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with connected or IoT devices.
  • Familiarity with wireless communication technologies (e.g., BLE).
  • Exposure to motion systems, sensors, or actuators (e.g., motor control).
  • Experience improving power efficiency in battery-operated devices.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and PCB design (e.g., KiCad or Altium).
  • Experience taking hardware through certification (CE, FCC, Bluetooth SIG) or working with contract manufacturers.
  • Scripting or tooling experience for testing and automation.
  • An open-minded approach and genuine enthusiasm for building products at the intersection of technology, intimacy, and entertainment.
  • Curiosity about AI-powered experiences, interactive content, and partnerplay over the internet.

You don't need experience in the adult industry. Interest in our product category is a bonus, not a prerequisite.

What We're Looking For

  • A strong sense of ownership: you take responsibility for what ships.
  • You think in systems and architecture, not just in drivers: you can reason about how the firmware, hardware, and connectivity fit together and make trade-offs at that level.
  • Ability to make pragmatic engineering trade-offs.
  • You use modern tooling, including AI coding assistants, to move faster and you have the depth to verify what they produce on real hardware.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, product-focused environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills across disciplines.

What We Offer

  • Make your mark: real ownership and visible impact from day one.
  • Build and evolve: work on new products and technologies, and keep improving the products customers already use.
  • Flexibility: about 80% in the office in Zuidas, with up to one month a year working from abroad.
  • Allowances: a monthly commuting allowance and a gym allowance to help you stay active and energized.
  • Perks: free drinks, snacks and fruit, a weekly bootcamp, regular team building activities, product discounts, and our summer and Christmas parties.

Feel Group welcomes applicants of every background. We hire on skills and potential.

About Feel Robotics

Industry: IT Services and IT Consulting

Company size: 51-200 employees

Feel Robotics is a high-tech company connecting IOT devices to an advanced communications platform that enables devices to talk to each other. Feel Robotics technology makes it easy to connect any Bluetooth device, and control it remotely or stream its sensor data to any cloud service with a click of a button. FeelRobotics makes use of the latest technologies in Robotics, AR, VR to merge these technologies into one service that will add interactivity and touch to what you see in a virtual world. The developers work with machine learning and computer vision to understand what humans’ intentions are and let robots execute their commands. Additionally, Feel Robotics produces hardware that will connect out-of-the box products with our IOT communication platform. It is now possible for new robotics companies to implement this core hardware technology and build their own robots. This means that they do not have to spend resources, such as time and money on developing this technology themselves.
