Job Description

Overview

Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider making data faster and safer, is seeking to hire an exceptional intern to join our Certification team in Vught. In this role, you will be working with some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world developing products that make data faster and safer.

As an intern, you’ll play a pivotal role in post-quantum cryptography research. In this role, you’ll report directly to our Director of Systems Architecture. Our Certification Team also handles architecture research, and your contributions will be instrumental for our post-quantum cryptography solutions.

Rambus offers a flexible work environment, embracing a hybrid approach for most office-based roles. Employees are encouraged to spend an average of at least three days per week onsite, allowing for two days of remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Mathematical research on post-quantum algorithms: likely concentration on HQC-KEM, Falcon signatures, NTRU or NTRU Prime, or “MPC in the head”.
  • Software prototyping and hardware / software codesign

Qualifications

This role is designed for a college undergraduate or graduate student intern.  We do not have a single hard requirement, as the project can be tailored to the intern, but relevant skills include:

  • Mathematical skills in abstract algebra, numerical analysis, probability and statistics
  • Familiarity with relevant programming tools (Python, SAGE, C/C++)
  • Familiarity with post-quantum cryptography
  • Familiarity with profiling and optimization techniques
  • Familiarity with hardware design, embedded systems programming, and/or hardware/software codesign
