Job Description

Job Description

Do you want to be part of a diverse and dynamic scale-up? Do you want hands-on work experience at a high-tech company working on quantum technologies? Then, please read on and apply!

In short

Single Quantum makes the world's fastest and most sensitive light sensors, limited only by the laws of physics! As a scale-up, we are growing steadily. We are servicing a growing customer base worldwide. We need a hands-on person who will work closely with our assembly teams to help the workflow go as smoothly and efficiently as possible. This position is based at our headquarters in Delft, with flexible working hours and the option to work 2–3 days per week (0.4 to 0.6 FTE).

What you will be doing

As a Production Assistant, you will be performing mostly hands-on tasks in our assembly lab, focusing on precision work with freshly fabricated detectors coming out of the cleanroom. This role demands the meticulous accuracy of a jeweler combined with the technical expertise required for high-tech systems.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Carefully handling and inspecting detectors

  • Performing precise electrical measurements using a probe station

  • Conducting detailed inspections under a microscope

  • Soldering PCBs and assembling fine electronic components

  • Documenting activities to ensure process integrity

  • Maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient workspace

You will work as part of our Mounting & Bonding team, collaborating closely with nanofabrication and detector testing teams to deliver the highest-quality detectors.

Your profile and requirements

  • Technical student (HBO, MBO) studying physics, electronics, or engineering.

  • Working proficiency in English; Dutch is a plus

  • Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude

  • Enjoy practical, proactive, and hands-on work in a lab environment

  • A high sense of responsibility and commitment to quality

  •  Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

The following work experiences are a plus

  • Prior work as a mechanical craftsman, such as operating a mill, latch, etc.

  • Experience with a wire bonding machine.

  • Experienced in PCB handling

Note: This role is a part-time position (0.4 to 0.6 FTE / 2 to 3 days a week)

What we offer

  • A starting salary of 14 euros per hour

  • Good coffee, fresh fruits, and weekly catered lunches

  • Vacation days and flexible working hours – ideally to combine next to studies

  • An employer who truly values personal development and growth, who invites you to do the same

  • Social security offered by the Collective Labor Agreement (CAO Metalektro)

  • An international, high-tech environment with colleagues from the Netherlands, USA, France, Italy, China, and the list goes on!
