Job Description

Data Analyst / Data Modeler Credit Data Location: Amsterdam (hybrid) Hours: 36 hours per week Start date: 1 December 2026 End date: 30 November 2027 Salary: € 5,700 - € 6,250 gross per month based on 36 hours (excluding holiday allowance) Do you want to be the link between business and technology, delivering the credit data a bank relies on to manage its credit risk? For a large Dutch bank, we are looking for three Data Analysts / Data Modelers. You will join the team that builds and maintains the bank's central credit data store. This team brings together numerous data sources in one unified data model and delivers reliable credit data products to internal consumers, from credit risk models to (Gen) AI and analytics. The assignment centres on two concrete projects with a tight timeline: Early Warning Model: the bank is developing a new model that detects deteriorating credit quality of obligors and exposures at an early stage, so account managers can act in time. The model replaces the current monitoring model and becomes part of a broader Early Warning System. Model-Based Calibration: delivering PD risk drivers from the data platform to downstream consumers. This is critical for the transition to the new credit rating chain for the non-retail portfolio. For each project, the result is a data product mapped according to the credit business data model and ready for consumers. You take care of the analysis, mapping and business logic, and bring it to production together with data engineers. What will you do? Your responsibilities include: Gathering, analysing and validating credit data requirements with consumers. Assessing which data attributes consumers need and identifying gaps in existing data. Maintaining the credit business data model: mapping data elements and data flows to support lending decisions and regulatory compliance. Adjusting mappings, creating build plans and performing corrective maintenance on data products. Taking end-to-end ownership of your data products, including testing and release management, in close collaboration with data engineers and consumers. Contributing to bank-wide change initiatives in which credit data is key. Helping to develop the team and platform further, for example through new tooling for data modelling. What do you bring? You are not a data engineer, but an analyst who understands the business and dives into the data yourself. You know what a loan is and what the data behind it means. You work independently, switch quickly between topics, and keep a cool head and a simple approach when the pressure rises. You also bring: Proven experience in business and data analysis, preferably within a bank and the credit domain. Strong SQL skills for day-to-day data analysis. Experience with data modelling: conceptual, logical and physical. Experience with data testing: unit, regression and acceptance testing. A general understanding of IT topics such as release management, testing and tools like Databricks. Strong stakeholder management and clear communication with a variety of stakeholders. An analytical mindset and attention to detail: you see the relationship between requirements, processes and developments, and translate it into solutions. Experience working under high pressure and with tight deadlines. Excellent command of English. Nice to have Knowledge of credit risk models, such as early warning, PD or credit rating. Experience with Python or Databricks. In this assignment, you work on two projects that directly shape how one of the largest banks in the Netherlands recognises and manages credit risk. You deliver visible results within a year, in a team that values independence and ownership. Does this sound like you? Send your CV and availability to [email protected] and I will get in touch with you soon.

Core Responsibilities

Analyze and validate credit data requirements, map data elements and flows to the credit business data model, and identify gaps in existing data. Own credit data products end to end—including business logic, testing, corrective maintenance, and release—in collaboration with data engineers and consumers.

Requirements

Candidates should have proven business and data analysis experience, preferably in banking and credit, strong SQL skills, and experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling and testing. They should communicate clearly with stakeholders, work independently under pressure, and have a general understanding of IT topics such as release management and Databricks; knowledge of credit risk models and experience with Python or Databricks are advantageous.
