About MANILAI MANILAI is building a Personal Intelligence System that helps people understand themselves better, make better decisions, and become the person they want to be. The product combines a premium mobile app, our own hardware device, and an intelligence layer that understands personal context over time. The role We’re looking for a Senior Product Engineer with a mobile focus. You’ll own features from start to finish: from the data model and API to the experience in the user’s hand. Are you a strong full-stack engineer who wants to move into mobile product engineering? We’d love to hear from you too. In your first months, you’ll have a clear onboarding plan and support from the team to help you get up to speed. How we build We keep our stack deliberately small: a React Native app, a single TypeScript backend (Next.js on Vercel, Postgres via Supabase), and Python for our data processing and generation pipelines. AI runs through the whole product. There are no separate frontend and backend teams. Engineers build features across the stack, so you never have to wait for someone else to build the endpoint you need. We measure success by what matters to users and the business (activation, retention, conversion), and you’ll help decide what we build, not just how. Right now our focus is the mobile app: making it feel premium, fluid and delightful. We aim for the quality of apps like WHOOP, where every detail feels intentional. What you’ll do Shape features with Product and Design, build them across app and backend, ship them, and see how they perform. Turn Figma designs into polished UI, with animations and micro-interactions that feel smooth without slowing the app down. Build endpoints, scheduled jobs and workflows in our TypeScript backend. Build MANIMIND and our other AI experiences, from LLM integration on the server to real-time streaming in the app. Make syncing with our hardware device reliable, including offline capture and recovery. Keep the app fast and stable: startup time, rendering, battery use, API latency, and catching bugs before users do. Help shape technical decisions and keep the codebase simple as we grow. What we’re looking for Solid experience with React Native and TypeScript, including consumer apps you’ve shipped to production. Server-side TypeScript: APIs, data models and SQL (Postgres). You’ve built features end to end, backend included. An eye for detail: typography, spacing, motion, and the loading, error and empty states that are easy to forget. You build for real-world conditions: poor connections, older devices, unexpected app states. You think in user outcomes and enjoy working closely with design and product in a fast-moving startup. Nice to have Native iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin) development, including native modules Bluetooth Low Energy or other connected hardware Offline-first apps and device-to-server sync Streaming interfaces and LLM integrations In-app purchases (StoreKit, Google Play Billing, RevenueCat) Reanimated or other advanced motion work Next.js, Vercel and Supabase Health, wearable or wellness apps Automated testing, mobile CI/CD, and App Store / Google Play releases What success looks like In your first months, you’ll have taken features from idea to production across app and backend, and you’ll know how they perform for real users. Core Responsibilities

Build and ship polished mobile and backend features, including AI experiences, hardware synchronization, and reliable offline capture. Optimize app performance and stability, collaborate with Product and Design, and help shape technical decisions and the codebase.

Requirements

Candidates should have production experience building consumer apps with React Native and TypeScript, plus server-side TypeScript, APIs, data models, and PostgreSQL. They should have delivered end-to-end features and demonstrate strong UI detail, real-world reliability awareness, and a user-outcome-focused approach.
