Data Scientist – Solution Lead Are you an experienced data scientist who likes to stay hands-on, while also leading a team to a working solution? At AI-InfraSolutions you lead your own pod as Solution Lead. You shape the solution, keep the team on track, and build models yourself. You work closely with our CTO, Architect, product team and key stakeholders, and with the other Solution Leads. The scope of your pod is still taking shape, so you’ll help define it. Because you lead a team and work closely with many colleagues, you’ll spend a substantial part of your week at our office in Eelde. What you’ll do Design, build and validate models and analyses, and set the technical bar for your pod. Translate stakeholder needs into solution options, scope proposals and estimates for the product roadmap. Shape the solution design together with our CTO and Architect, and make sure your pod builds it consistently. Plan and prioritise your pod’s work and run its routines: planning, stand-ups, reviews and retros. Coach and mentor pod members on the job, and review their code and experiments. Define and refine your pod’s scope as it evolves, and flag changes early. Align with the other Solution Leads on dependencies and conflicting requirements. Be the first point of contact for your pod’s solution. What you bring An MSc in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, physics or another quantitative field. 5+ years of experience building and deploying models in practice. 2+ years of experience leading a team or project, for example as tech lead, lead data scientist or project lead. Strong skills in Python, machine learning and statistics, SQL, version control and code review. The ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Comfort with ambiguity: you can scope work that isn’t fully defined yet and keep it on track. Fluent English. Strong plus Experience with computer vision models. Experience with lidar (point cloud) classification. Nice to have A PhD in a relevant field. Experience with models in production, MLOps and cloud platforms. Experience leading in a cross-functional team, alongside product and architecture roles. Customer-facing experience. Dutch. Core Responsibilities

Design, build, and validate models and analyses while setting technical standards and shaping the pod’s solution with the CTO, Architect, product team, and stakeholders. Lead and plan the pod’s work, mentor members, review their work, define the pod’s evolving scope, and coordinate dependencies with other Solution Leads.

Requirements

A relevant MSc and at least five years of practical experience building and deploying models are required, along with at least two years leading a team or project. Candidates should have strong Python, machine learning, statistics, SQL, version control, and code review skills, and be able to communicate trade-offs and manage ambiguity; English fluency is required.
