The hotel achieved a #1 ranking on TripAdvisor in the Netherlands and has received multiple international media recognitions. VanOost itself is awarded 14/20 points by Gault & Millau and is listed in the Michelin Guide. The restaurant offers refined, world-inspired cuisine with strong Japanese and French influences, built around seasonal products and precise techniques. The interior is elegant and understated, with high ceilings, large windows and an open kitchen that places craftsmanship at the center of the guest experience. Dining at VanOost is about rhythm, precision and attention to detail, both on the plate and in service. About the role As Chef de Rang, you are responsible for your own section within the restaurant. You guide guests through their lunch or dinner experience with confidence and knowledge. You understand the structure of a tasting menu, the balance of flavors and the importance of timing between kitchen and service. You know when to step forward with explanation and when to step back to allow the moment to unfold. You work closely with the Restaurant Manager, Sommelier and kitchen team to ensure every service runs seamlessly. What will you do? Manage your own section during lunch and dinner service Present dishes and explain ingredients, techniques and flavor profiles Advise guests on wine pairings together with the sommelier Coordinate timing with the kitchen for smooth course progression Ensure mise-en-place is prepared to fine dining standards Anticipate guest needs and respond accurately and professionally Contribute to maintaining the level that earned the restaurant its recognitions What do we offer? Core Responsibilities

Requirements

Candidates should have proven experience as a Chef de Rang or in a similar fine dining role and be familiar with Michelin Guide-level service standards. Strong food and wine pairing knowledge, structured and composed service, fluent English, and residence in or near Amsterdam are expected; Dutch is an advantage.
