NewData is looking for three Analytics Engineers for a client. The client is a Rotterdam data and cloud consultancy of about fifty people from more than twenty nationalities. They build data platforms on Google Cloud for companies in retail, e-commerce, media and travel, among others. Analytics Engineer here means you think like a data engineer. You build pipelines and data models that are correct, tested and documented. You are more technical than a BI specialist or data analyst, and broader than a data scientist. And because you work with clients, you can explain what you build and why. What will you do? Design and build data models with dbt or Dataform and SQL, from conceptual to physical Build and maintain pipelines and integrations in Google Cloud, using BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub and Cloud Storage Work Agile in sprints, with everything as code, test-driven development and security built in from the start For marketing clients: connect data from Google Analytics and ad platforms, activate it in media channels and measure what a campaign delivers Work with clients to define the business concepts and rules in their data, and turn them into a model Work with tests, Git, CI/CD and, where needed, Terraform Use AI daily for coding, testing and documentation, and check the output critically Help clients test an AI idea with a prototype, and take what works to production Present your results to the client What are we looking for? A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, data engineering or a similar field Hands-on experience with data engineering and data modelling. Coming from software engineering and have you built data pipelines and integrations? You are welcome too Experience with a cloud platform. Google Cloud is a plus, moving over from AWS or Azure is fine Strong SQL and Python or Java Knowledge of dimensional modelling, such as star schemas Strong communication: you are a consultant and sit at the table with clients Experience with marketing data, such as Google Analytics or ad platforms, or a Google Cloud certification (Developer, Data Engineer or Architect) is a plus You live in the Netherlands and speak good English. Core Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and document data models and pipelines on Google Cloud, using tools such as dbt, Dataform, BigQuery, and SQL. Work with clients to define data concepts, deliver marketing data integrations and AI prototypes where relevant, and present results.

Requirements

A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, data engineering, or a related field is sought, along with hands-on data engineering and modeling experience. Candidates should have cloud experience, strong SQL and Python or Java skills, dimensional modeling knowledge, and strong client communication; applicants must live in the Netherlands and speak good English.
