Job Description

Build a Sustainable Organization That Improves Children's Education Across the Netherlands Do you have experience working with Dutch schools, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the ambition to create something meaningful? Chess Learning Institute (CLI) is looking for a passionate education professional, entrepreneur, or established organization to establish and lead CLI in the Netherlands. This is an opportunity to build and take ownership of a national educational initiative that helps children strengthen their critical thinking, problem-solving, concentration, and essential life skills through chess-based learning. About Chess Learning Institute Chess Learning Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving children's education through systematic chess-based learning. Building on decades of educational practice in Denmark through Dansk Skoleskak, our approach uses chess as a method for learning, not simply as a game to master. We work with local partners to establish and grow sustainable national organizations that bring our established educational programmes into schools, adapting implementation to each country's educational context. No previous chess experience is required. What You Would Help Build Your responsibilities would include: Establishing and leading CLI's presence and operations in the Netherlands. Building relationships with Dutch schools, educational organizations, and other stakeholders. Introducing CLI's established chess-based learning programmes to schools across the country. Developing a network of participating schools and educational partners. Coordinating programme implementation and supporting long-term adoption. Identifying opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and sustainable funding. Building a financially sustainable organization with the potential to expand nationally. What CLI Brings CLI provides: Established chess-based educational programmes and systematic teaching methodologies. Ready-to-use curriculum materials and educational resources. Training and implementation guidance. Communication and promotional resources. Ongoing mentorship, collaboration, and operational support. Together, we would establish a practical strategy for launching and growing CLI in the Netherlands, combining our educational expertise with your local knowledge, relationships, and entrepreneurial drive. Who We're Looking For We welcome interest from: Education organizations and school-service providers. Teacher-training and professional development organizations. Nonprofits and social-impact organizations. Established chess-education organizations. Education entrepreneurs and business development professionals. Individuals with the ambition and ability to establish and lead a national educational organization. We are particularly interested in candidates who have: Existing relationships with Dutch schools or educational organizations (strongly preferred). Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills. An entrepreneurial mindset and the ambition to build a sustainable organization. An understanding of the Dutch education system. The ability to take initiative, lead operations, and develop long-term partnerships. Additional advantages include: Previous leadership or organizational management experience. Experience establishing or growing an organization. Dutch and English language proficiency. Experience with fundraising, sponsorships, or revenue generation. Chess expertise is not required. What matters most is your understanding of schools, your entrepreneurial spirit, and your commitment to creating lasting educational impact. Partnership and Ownership Opportunity Our preferred approach is to establish a long-term national partnership with an individual or existing organization interested in setting up, owning, and operating CLI in the Netherlands. This is more than an opportunity to represent an educational programme. It is an opportunity to take a leading role in building and growing a national organization, supported by CLI's established educational framework, resources, and expertise. The partnership would offer significant local ownership and operational responsibility, with the opportunity to shape the organization's growth and long-term impact in the Netherlands. The specific partnership structure, responsibilities, financial arrangements, and ownership terms would be discussed directly with suitable applicants. How to Apply Please apply through LinkedIn with your CV or organization profile. Selected applicants will be invited to an introductory conversation to discuss their background, motivation, and vision for establishing Chess Learning Institute in the Netherlands. We are looking for passionate individuals and organizations who want to do more than introduce an educational product. We are looking for partners ready to build something, create lasting educational impact, and help shape the future of children's education in the Netherlands.
