Job description
Your challenge
Build RF and microwave measurement instruments where high-quality electronic manufacturing, precise assembly and skilled workmanship make the difference.
Work hands-on in a small international team on established products and new prototypes, with opportunities to develop your assembly, testing and troubleshooting skills.
Your role
We are seeking an Electronics & RF Assembly Technician to build RF and microwave measurement instruments, electronic assemblies and test setups. You will work closely with our production and R&D engineers on established products and new prototypes. This varied, hands-on role combines printed circuit board (PCB) soldering, cable preparation, system wiring and mechanical assembly with inspection, testing and repair support.
Key duties and responsibilities
· Assemble RF and microwave instruments, systems and subassemblies according to technical drawings and work instructions.
· Solder electronic components onto PCBs, including small surface-mount devices (SMDs), and carry out rework and repairs with engineering guidance as needed.
· Prepare cables and wiring harnesses, including cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, routing and labelling.
· Assemble and wire systems containing RF components, electronic modules, power supplies and mechanical parts.
· Build and modify prototypes and RF measurement setups in collaboration with engineers.
· Perform visual inspections, electrical checks and functional tests against defined procedures and acceptance criteria.
· Support troubleshooting of PCBs and systems and carry out agreed repairs with engineering guidance.
· Record assembly and test results, report deviations and help improve production methods and work instructions.
· Follow quality requirements, electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions and safe working procedures.
Required skills and expertise
· An MBO level 3 or 4 qualification or a bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
· Experience soldering electronic components and small connector contacts; experience with small SMD components is an advantage, but not essential.
· A basic understanding of electronics and the ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams and electronic schematics.
· A careful, organised approach, attention to workmanship quality and the ability to stay focused during detailed assembly work.
· A practical approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new skills.
· The ability to work independently and communicate clearly with colleagues across production and R&D.
· Good spoken and written English.
· Experience with cable assembly, PCB repair or RF test equipment, or familiarity with IPC workmanship standards such as IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620, is an advantage. Previous RF and microwave experience is welcome, but not essential.
What we offer
· A varied technical role in a small team working on specialised RF and microwave measurement products.
· Close collaboration with colleagues whose expertise spans electronics, RF and microwave engineering.
· Practical guidance and opportunities to develop your assembly, testing and troubleshooting skills.
· An international working environment with a diverse team of colleagues based in the Netherlands.
· The opportunity to contribute ideas and improve how our products are built.
· A full-time position (40 hours per week).
· A salary aligned with your skills and experience.
- A salary of €40,000 to €60,000 per year, depending on skills, qualifications, and experience.
Location
You will be based at our Eindhoven office at Luchthavenweg 18D, 5657 EB Eindhoven. The role involves hands-on assembly work at workbenches and with production and test equipment.
