Job Description

Everience is an international consulting group delivering AI-augmented digital services and placing people at the heart of the AI revolution. With a presence in Europe, Africa, Asia and America, Everience offers its 4,000-strong workforce the most demanding and stimulating environment in which to transform and develop their skills, learning about new AI-based roles and building their future employability. Through its Symbiotic Academy the group offers a unique hub for training, practical application and exchange where everyone can experiment, learn, and progress in the fields of artificial intelligence and data. In accordance with its core purpose of orchestrating the symbiotic relationship between humans and AI in the workplace, Everience is making the augmented employee the driving force of a “symbiotic age”, where AI enhances talents and opens up new career opportunities. Job Description For one of our clients in the energy and chemicals sector, we are looking for an Experimentalist to support the development of innovative catalysts for refining and chemical applications. Working closely with scientists, researchers and technical specialists, you will support the development of new catalyst formulations and preparation methods, helping translate laboratory innovations into scalable manufacturing processes. This is a hands-on laboratory role where your expertise in chemical synthesis, materials preparation and experimental development will contribute directly to industrial innovation. Responsibilities Perform hands-on laboratory experiments involving the synthesis and preparation of catalyst samples. Develop, optimise and refine catalyst formulations and preparation recipes. Prepare prototype catalyst samples for refining and chemical applications. Investigate and improve catalyst preparation methods to ensure reproducibility, quality and consistency. Translate laboratory-developed recipes into scalable preparation processes suitable for commercial manufacturing. Collaborate with scientists, programme leaders, reactor-testing specialists and analytical teams. Work closely with manufacturing and production support teams to support the scale-up of catalyst preparation processes. Ensure timely delivery of catalyst samples to support ongoing research and development programmes. Document experimental procedures, results and preparation methods accurately. Contribute practical catalyst preparation knowledge and expertise to multidisciplinary development projects. Qualifications HBO degree in Applied Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Materials Science, Chemistry or a related technical discipline. Practical experience in a laboratory environment involving chemical synthesis, materials preparation or experimental development. Understanding of laboratory procedures, chemical formulations and experimental techniques. Experience working with solid materials, inorganic compounds, powders or catalysts is highly desirable. Ability to develop, test and optimise preparation methods and experimental recipes. Understanding of process development and laboratory-to-industrial scale-up is an advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Accurate, structured and hands-on approach to laboratory work. Comfortable working collaboratively in multidisciplinary project teams. Experience or knowledge in areas such as catalyst synthesis, heterogeneous catalysis, zeolites, inorganic materials, refining, petrochemical applications, Fischer-Tropsch processes, gas conversion or laboratory process scale-up would be considered an advantage. Additional Information All our positions are open to both women and men and are, of course, open to people with disabilities.

Core Responsibilities

Conduct laboratory experiments to synthesize and prepare catalyst samples, and develop, optimize, and document formulations and preparation methods. Collaborate with research, analytical, testing, and manufacturing teams to deliver samples and translate laboratory recipes into reproducible, scalable processes.

Requirements

An HBO-level degree in applied chemistry, chemical technology, materials science, chemistry, or a related technical discipline is required, along with practical laboratory experience in chemical synthesis, materials preparation, or experimental development. Candidates should understand laboratory procedures and chemical formulations, work accurately and collaboratively, and ideally have experience with solid or inorganic materials, catalysts, or process scale-up.
