New Business Sales Director (NL/BE)
Key Skills
Job Description
About More Optimal More Optimal makes advanced supply-chain optimization practical and accessible. We combine AI-assisted modelling with deep human expertise to build and adapt planning solutions rapidly. Our solutions help organizations address planning challenges that standard software, ERP systems, and spreadsheets cannot adequately solve. Our core areas include transport planning, production planning, and detailed scheduling, particularly where customer-specific rules, interacting constraints, and competing operational objectives create complexity. About the role We are looking for a New Business Sales Director to build More Optimal’s market position and new-business pipeline across the Netherlands and Belgium. This is a senior, hands-on commercial role for someone who will treat the region as their own business: determining where to focus, creating opportunities, building relationships and converting market potential into signed customers. You will be accountable for developing a healthy pipeline rather than relying on an established territory or inherited opportunities. Leads and prospects may also come through BDR and inbound channels, but these will complement your own business-development activity. You will lead complex enterprise sales cycles involving operational specialists, senior executives and C-level decision-makers. Beyond individual opportunities, you will use market and customer insight to help sharpen More Optimal’s regional positioning, propositions and sales approach. You will report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and work closely with our in-house Solution and Domain Experts. The role is based in the Netherlands and covers prospective customers in the Netherlands and Belgium. What you’ll do Own the development of new business across the Netherlands and Belgium. Develop and execute a focused regional new-business plan, identifying the sectors, accounts and opportunities where More Optimal can create the greatest value. Build and maintain your own pipeline through targeted prospecting, your professional network and relevant industry relationships. Qualify and progress opportunities originating from BDR and inbound channels alongside your self-generated pipeline. Lead the full sales cycle, from initial engagement, discovery and qualification through proposal, negotiation and signed contract. Build account strategies for priority logistics and manufacturing organizations while pursuing strong opportunities in other industries. Navigate complex customer organizations and build support among operational, technical, commercial and executive stakeholders. Identify customers’ planning challenges, operational constraints, decision criteria and potential business value. Position More Optimal credibly against alternative planning solutions and approaches. Work with Solution and Domain Experts on discovery, tailored demonstrations, proof-of-value activities, solution proposals and commercial offers. Develop relationships with executive sponsors, operational champions and key decision-makers. Make disciplined decisions about where to invest sales effort and when an opportunity should not be pursued. Maintain accurate opportunity plans, stakeholder information, next steps, pipeline data and forecasts in the CRM. Provide structured customer, competitor and market feedback to sharpen our positioning, propositions and go-to-market approach. Collaborate with product and marketing colleagues on relevant content, campaigns and industry activities. Build More Optimal’s presence and credibility through customer meetings, industry events and trade shows. What we’re looking for A strong record of winning net-new enterprise business through complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles. Demonstrable success building a territory or market and creating pipeline from a limited existing base. The ability and motivation to originate opportunities independently rather than relying on an inherited or centrally generated pipeline. The autonomy, resilience and commercial judgment to operate effectively in a developing market. Strong domain knowledge of at least one of these domains: transport planning & route optimization production planning & detailed scheduling workforce planning & scheduling Relevant domain knowledge gained through software sales or hands-on supply-chain experience. The ability to translate operational challenges into a credible commercial and business case. Strong discovery, qualification, negotiation and closing skills. Confidence engaging operational specialists, senior executives and C-level decision-makers. Professional fluency in Dutch and English. Helpful, but not required Professional proficiency in French. Experience selling optimization, APS, scheduling, logistics or supply-chain software. An established network within logistics or manufacturing. Experience opening a new market or building a territory without significant existing pipeline or brand awareness. Experience with demonstrations, proof-of-value projects and solution-led sales. Experience collaborating with BDRs and technical or domain specialists. What we offer A senior, hands-on commercial role with ownership of developing More Optimal’s business across the Netherlands and Belgium.
