Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer / Administrator to support enterprise application operations, administration, and continuous improvement in a large-scale international ICT environment. 📍 The Hague, Netherlands (nearsite, remote work with limited on-site presence) 📅 Start Date: 14 December 2026 (latest start: 8 February 2027) ⏳ Initial Duration: 160 working days (40h/week) with extensions up to July 2029 🔐 Security Clearance: EU CONFIDENTIAL ✅Requirements university degree minimum 9 years of relevant professional IT experience minimum 6 years supporting, deploying, and maintaining applications in medium-to-large IT environments minimum 5 years of Application Administration experience minimum 5 years working with Microsoft and/or Linux server environments minimum 2 years of experience with: elasticsearch administration and support, kubernetes, docker and containerized environments, public or hybrid cloud solutions (azure and/or AWS) ✅ Strong knowledge of: Elasticsearch cluster deployment and administration Kubernetes, Helm Charts, Docker, and Rancher Configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chocolatey or similar) PowerShell and/or Shell scripting ITIL processes (Incident, Change & Release Management) DevOps principles and practices ➕Nice to Have experience with PostgreSQL and/or MS SQL Server knowledge of Kong API Gateway additional Azure or AWS cloud expertise ✅Responsibilities install, configure, and administer applications in production and non-production environments monitor application availability, performance, and capacity support incident, problem, change, and release management activities administer Elasticsearch environments and container platforms automate operational and administration tasks create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge articles contribute to service improvement and operational excellence initiatives

Requirements

Requires a university degree and at least nine years of relevant IT experience, including substantial application administration and experience supporting applications in medium-to-large IT environments. Candidates must have experience with Microsoft or Linux servers, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, Docker, cloud solutions, configuration management, scripting, ITIL processes, and DevOps practices.
