Act Digital is looking for a Senior Application Engineer / Administrator for a leading European institution. TASKS : Install, configure and administer applications in production and non-production environments. Monitor applications, tune performance and continuously improve service efficiency and quality. Provide application support and maintenance, including incident, change, release and problem resolution. Write and validate application procedures, troubleshooting guides, backup plans and restore plans. Automate recurring system-administration procedures and produce installation and technical-support documentation. Contribute to the structure, maintenance and development of the ICT Operations technical knowledge base. Report on application availability, performance, capacity and usage when required. SENIORITY REQUIREMENTS : To qualify for this position, the consultant must have: University studies of at least 4 years plus at least 9 years of relevant professional experience after the diploma; or: University studies of at least 3 years plus at least 10 years of relevant professional experience after the diploma. At least 6 years as an IT professional in mid-size or large IT infrastructure environments, including application deployment, support and maintenance. At least 5 years of experience in application administration. At least 2 years of experience with microservices, container orchestration and container-based stacks such as Docker or Kubernetes. At least 2 years of experience administering and supporting Elasticsearch. At least 5 years of experience working with enterprise Microsoft or Linux server solutions. REQUIREMENTS : Required Certifications : Relevant certifications in the technologies listed below are desirable. Knowledge & Skills : Deployment and administration of Elasticsearch clusters. Microservices, container orchestration and container stacks using Kubernetes, Helm charts, Docker and Rancher. Configuration-management concepts and technologies such as Puppet, Ansible or Chocolatey. Shell and/or PowerShell scripting. ITIL processes, including incident, change and release management. At least 2 years of experience with public or hybrid cloud services and solutions such as Azure or AWS. DevOps practices. Relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL and their interaction with applications. Kong API Gateway. (!) IMPORTANT : Open to EU candidates only. Near-site mission in The Hague, Netherlands. One week of onsite onboarding is expected at the start of the mission. Europol may request onsite presence for up to 5 separate or consecutive full working days per month. Minimum English level: B2 or higher. Requirements

Requires at least 9 years of relevant post-diploma experience with four or more years of university study, or at least 10 years with three or more years of university study, including substantial application administration experience. Candidates must also have experience in large or mid-size IT environments, Elasticsearch, containers and orchestration, enterprise Microsoft or Linux servers, and public or hybrid cloud; English proficiency of B2 or higher is required.
