Job Description
Playrix is one of the most successful mobile game development companies, ranking among the top 3 mobile game developers in the world. Our games have been installed 2.3 billion times (one-third of the world’s population), and more than 30 million people play them every day! We are looking for a Product Legal Counsel. You'll be the go-to legal partner for our product, marketing, and other teams across the business, throughout the full game lifecycle. It's a broad, hands-on role spanning regulatory compliance, minor protection, online trust and safety, privacy, and AI. You'll turn complex legal questions into clear, practical guidance that helps the business move fast while remaining legally compliant. What you'll do: Advise on child and minor safety across our games, including age assurance and age-gating, youth-safety features, parental controls, and age-appropriate content and experiences. Handle online trust and safety matters, including content moderation, user conduct and reporting, and harmful or illegal content. Lead responses to regulatory inquiries, investigations, and requests for information, including gathering internal input, drafting submissions, and corresponding with regulators across various jurisdictions. Guide teams on the use of AI across the business and its associated legal risks (copyright, training data, output, disclosure/labeling, as well as platform and regulatory requirements). Handle privacy and data-protection matters across the product lifecycle, including providing day-to-day advice to product and marketing teams, conducting privacy risk assessments (DPIA, LIA, TIA), reviewing complex DPAs and other data-sharing arrangements with vendors and partners, and embedding privacy-by-design into in-game features, SDKs and third-party trackers. Advise on game design and mechanics, monetization (in-apps, virtual currencies, and reward mechanics), in-game content and features, as well as advertising and marketing. Help customer support teams with player communications and escalations, including difficult refund and chargeback cases, account actions, and player legal concerns. Manage external counsel, ensuring their support is timely, cost-effective, and commercially focused. Provide occasional support on commercial and IP matters, including publishing and marketing agreements, copyright and content clearance, and infringement or takedowns. What you'll bring: Qualified to practice law in any European country. 5+ years of legal experience, including 3+ years in-house advising product, technology, or entertainment teams; in-house experience at a game developer is highly desirable. Experience advising across multiple jurisdictions and managing external counsel. Fluency in English and Russian. A genuine appetite for using AI tools to work smarter. A talent for offering pragmatic, commercially focused advice on complex legal issues, with sound judgment amid ambiguity and little precedent, and a "getting to yes" mindset. Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with a varied, high-volume workload. Preferred: Additional credentials such as CIPP or AIGP. A passion for games, both at work and in your free time. What we offer: Flexibility at work For most positions we offer a flexible schedule, and employees can work from anywhere in the world. We only evaluate your results. Caring for health and well-being We provide voluntary health insurance for employees and their children, and reimburse online sessions with a psychologist, including individual, family, and child consultations. We offer fully paid vacation days and sick leave. In certain circumstances, you can request additional days off. We support leading a healthy lifestyle and reimburse the cost of gym memberships and fitness app subscriptions, as well as massages, spa and sauna visits, and recovery treatments. Professional development and education We pay for participation in specialized conferences and courses and hold our own internal conferences. We cover foreign language courses. Employees who combine work with formal education are entitled to five additional paid days off per year for exams, thesis or dissertation defence, and other mandatory academic activities. Events and merch We regularly hold offline events like team meetings, big corporate parties, and informal office parties. We also regularly organize fun competitions, quizzes, hackathons, and online fitness challenges. We have a merch store with its own internal currency that you can use to buy unique gifts, such as a new game console or a padel racket. Pet care We reimburse a portion of pet-related expenses, including veterinary services and other eligible costs. By submitting a response to our vacancy, you acknowledge and accept that your personal data collected during interview process at Playrix will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Notice. You can send a request regarding your personal data at [email protected]
