Job Description

Data Analyst Finance & Risk (SQL, Python, Databricks) · Amsterdam · 36 hours · 16 November to 31 March 2027 €6,900 to €7,800 gross a month, plus 8% holiday allowance. You're employed by BrightStone Group and work in the Finance & Risk reporting organisation of a large Dutch bank. The team builds the data products that finance and risk reporting run on. Right now it has more issues and more changes than people, and the delivery dates are fixed. They want someone who can open the code and the data and sort it out, for four and a half months. What the work is • Build new and changed data functionality for several finance and risk use cases, in SQL and Python • Check it against the requirements and acceptance criteria before it goes to release. If it doesn't meet them, it doesn't go • When figures don't match, find out why, write it down and stay on it until the fix has been through the test cycle What you bring • A master's degree and data management experience in banking, ideally in Finance and Risk • SQL and Python you write yourself • Azure, Databricks, ADLS, PySpark and Airflow. Tell me honestly which of these you've used in production • You understand what regulators ask of finance and risk data • Experience at a Dutch bank is a real plus • Good English. The CV goes in English What to know before you apply • Start is 16 November, two weeks away. A longer notice period probably rules you out • It runs to 31 March 2027. Nobody has promised an extension, and your contract with us runs for the same period • Employment with us only. The client does not take freelancers on this seat • You live in the Netherlands and already have the right to work here. We can't sponsor a visa • You'll be screened before you start, by us and by the bank • Hybrid, from Amsterdam • BrightStone Group is your employer and the bank is our client, so this isn't a vacancy at the bank itself. I'll tell you which bank on our first call Applying Apply through this post, and put one line at the top of your CV: the finance or risk data you built in SQL or Python, and at which bank. I read that line first. Questions first? Email [email protected].

Core Responsibilities

Build and modify SQL- and Python-based data functionality for finance and risk use cases, then validate it against requirements and acceptance criteria before release. Investigate discrepancies in reported figures, document their causes, and follow fixes through the testing cycle.

Requirements

A master's degree and banking data management experience are sought, ideally in Finance and Risk, along with hands-on SQL and Python skills. Candidates should understand regulatory expectations for finance and risk data and be candid about their production experience with Azure, Databricks, ADLS, PySpark, and Airflow; experience at a Dutch bank and good English are advantages or requirements noted in the posting.

Benefits

  • Holiday Allowance
