Your Tasks Are you a law student looking to gain hands-on experience in an in-house legal department? Do you enjoy researching legal questions, tackling challenges and working closely with different parts of the business? Then this internship at MediaMarkt could be the perfect opportunity for you! As a Legal Intern at MediaMarkt Benelux, you will become part of our Legal team, consisting of six colleagues supporting the business across the Netherlands. You will work closely with our Legal Counsel and gain valuable insight into the role of an in-house lawyer within an international retail organisation. You will support the Legal Counsel with a wide variety of legal matters and business-related questions. Your responsibilities will include: Legal research: Investigating legal questions, new legislation and regulatory requirements, as well as reviewing commercial initiatives proposed by the business. Litigation and legal correspondence: Supporting the Legal Counsel with ongoing litigation matters and reviewing relevant legal correspondence. Customer complaints: Researching and analysing complex customer complaints that have been escalated by our Customer Care department. Contract review: Assisting with the review and analysis of contracts with suppliers and other external parties. Business support: Researching a broad range of legal questions and projects raised by different departments within the organisation. Corporate and commercial matters: Investigating questions relating to legal entities, internal projects, the parent company and topics such as warranty periods. Working closely with the business: Gaining insight into different departments and understanding how legal matters connect to day-to-day business operations. Your Profile An enthusiastic and proactive law student with a strong willingness to learn and an interest in taking on new challenges. Someone who enjoys getting things done, can easily switch between different topics and is not afraid to dive into complex legal questions. Currently in the third year of a bachelor's degree or further along in their studies. Studying Law (HBO or WO), students pursuing a master's degree in Corporate Law, Private Law or Civil Law are particularly welcome. Strong research and analytical skills, with an interest in exploring a wide range of legal matters. A proactive and independent approach, with the ability to take initiative and look for solutions before seeking assistance. A persistent and hands-on mentality, with the determination to see tasks through. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an approachable and collaborative attitude. An interest in the commercial side of a business and in understanding how legal matters connect to day-to-day business operations. Core Responsibilities

Support the Legal Counsel with legal research, regulatory questions, litigation and correspondence, escalated customer complaints, and supplier and external-party contract reviews. Research legal and commercial matters raised by business departments and gain insight into how legal issues relate to daily operations.

Requirements

Applicants should be law students in at least the third year of a bachelor's degree, or further along, studying HBO or WO Law; master's students in Corporate, Private, or Civil Law are especially welcome. The role calls for strong research and analytical skills, initiative, persistence, adaptability, communication skills, and an interest in the commercial side of business.
