Job Description
Are you an entrepreneurial, results-driven professional who knows how to achieve commercial results in a dynamic environment? Do you understand what it takes to build and maintain strategic partnerships and turn shared ambitions into tangible results? And does the combination of leading a team of specialists while taking ownership of key strategic topics appeal to you? Then this could be the role for you. Together with your team, you will help realise the commercial ambitions of ING Insurance.
What you are going to do
Within Retail Non-Life & Health (RS&Z), our ambition is to become the leading retail insurer in the Netherlands and make the most of opportunities for commercial growth. As Partnership Manager ING Insurance, you are the main point of contact for ING Bank. You take the lead in managing the partnership and are responsible for achieving the shared objectives of ING Bank and RS&Z.
You closely monitor the performance of the ING portfolio, covering both MGA (Mandated General Agent) and provincial insurance distribution, and use data-driven insights to engage with ING Bank on improvement initiatives and broader commercial topics.
In this role, you are responsible for the ING Insurance Business Team and report directly to the Senior Manager Partnerships Non-Life & Health.
- You provide direct leadership to the ING Insurance Business Team, consisting of four specialists
- You are the main point of contact for ING Bank and take ownership of the tactical and strategic agenda, with the aim of driving commercial growth within the portfolio. You prepare for and lead discussions with ING Bank to achieve our shared commercial objectives
- You proactively build and maintain a strong partnership, understanding what is needed to bring together the interests of NN and ING Bank
- You translate strategic input from ING Bank across different areas into a clear commercial strategy, taking into account innovation and developments in the Dutch retail non-life insurance market
- You maintain oversight of the entire NN value chain. In addition to ING Bank, you work with various teams across NN, including Product, Pricing & Risk (PP&R), Customer Contact & Claims Handling (K&S), IT and SI Delegated Authority. You ensure these teams work together effectively to support the end-to-end ING Insurance value chain
- You ensure that contractual agreements are effectively monitored, documented and communicated to both ING Bank and internal stakeholders
What we offer you
NN invests in an inclusive and inspiring working environment and in the skills and competencies needed for the future. Our employment benefits reflect what matters today while also looking ahead, enabling our colleagues to get the best out of themselves.
We offer you:
- A monthly salary between €7,602 and €10,136, based on a 36-hour working week and depending on your knowledge and experience
- A 13th month and holiday allowance, paid monthly with your salary
- 27 days of annual leave based on a five-day working week, plus three Diversity Days
- A modern pension scheme administered by BeFrank
- Extensive training and development opportunities
- An NS Business Card for second-class travel, allowing you to travel without restrictions, including for private use. Prefer to travel using your own transport? You can claim a mileage allowance
- Working-from-home allowances for internet and a suitable home office set-up
Who you are
- Higher professional or academic working and thinking level (HBO/WO), combined with sufficient seniority and 7 to 8 years of experience in a similar role within an insurer or bank
- You are a strong and credible business partner, including at executive level. You have a keen understanding of the needs of our distribution partner, naturally connect people and build relationships with ease
- You are able to safeguard NN's interests in the partnership with ING Bank while ensuring a commercially sustainable and mutually beneficial collaboration
- You have strong stakeholder management skills and are comfortable engaging at different organisational levels. You know how to mobilise stakeholders and create support, commitment and engagement
- You have a can-do mentality and remain resilient when faced with challenges
- You are decisive, persistent and results-oriented, and able to communicate your point of view clearly. You bring a fresh perspective, take initiative and contribute new ideas. At the same time, you are a strong team player who connects different disciplines across the organisation
- You have several years of experience in a commercial role involving direct client or partner contact and demonstrable experience across the relevant areas of expertise
- You have extensive knowledge of the retail and/or commercial insurance market and a clear vision of the distribution of retail non-life insurance products
- You quickly get to the heart of complex matters, turn ideas into concrete proposals and distinguish key priorities from secondary issues
- English is the primary working language in our collaboration with ING Bank, so a strong command of English is essential
Who you will work with
As Partnership Manager ING Insurance, you lead the ING Insurance Business Team while also taking an active role in a range of strategic and substantive topics. You will work with a diverse and ambitious team of four specialists from different disciplines.
