Senior Consultant Strategic Sourcing
Key Skills
Job Description
About The Role How do you ensure that IT investments truly contribute to an organisation’s strategic ambitions? Which services should be managed internally, which should be outsourced, and what role do cloud solutions play in that decision? As a Senior Consultant Strategic Sourcing, you help organisations make these strategic choices. You advise clients on the design and sourcing of their IT landscape and translate business objectives into clear sourcing and procurement strategies. In doing so, you look beyond the procurement challenge itself, bringing together stakeholder interests, opportunities, and risks to help clients make informed decisions. You will work on a wide variety of projects, ranging from developing business cases and defining sourcing strategies to managing supplier selections and procurement processes. Highberg works extensively with public sector organisations, where projects are often delivered through European tender procedures. Depending on the assignment, you may act as a project manager leading a sourcing or selection process, as a subject-matter expert, or as a quality assurance advisor overseeing the process. You will often work across multiple clients and projects simultaneously. This combination of strategy, content expertise, and execution makes the role both challenging and diverse. Apply now Your role as Senior Consultant Strategic Sourcing No two client challenges are the same. One day, you may help a financial services organisation outsource part of its IT environment to the cloud, while the next you may advise a government organisation on the procurement of IT or communication services. What all assignments have in common is that you help clients create future-proof IT services and supplier ecosystems. You will: Analyse client ambitions and business needs and translate them into effective sourcing and procurement strategies. Advise on sourcing, outsourcing, cloud strategy, supplier management, and the design of IT service delivery. Develop business cases and support clients in strategic decision-making. Lead supplier selection processes, procurement projects, and formal tender procedures. Prepare and develop RFI’s, RFP’s, Statements of Requirements, and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s). Advise clients on contract management and supplier management. Act as a consultant, project manager, or quality assurance lead, depending on the nature of the assignment. In all your work, you remain independent of suppliers and specific technologies. The client’s objectives and best interests always come first. Who are you? You are an experienced consultant who can quickly understand complex challenges and translate them into practical solutions. You enjoy combining subject-matter expertise with client engagement and are motivated by projects that make a real impact. In addition: You enjoy working on challenging and socially relevant issues, both independently and collaboratively. You can explain complex IT and sourcing challenges in a clear and understandable way. You are comfortable engaging with stakeholders at different organisational levels. You are confident providing independent advice and challenging clients when necessary. You combine strong analytical skills with a pragmatic, results-oriented approach. You have a commercial mindset and actively contribute to client relationships, networking, and business development. What are we asking? A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, for example in Information Management, Organisational Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience with supplier selection processes, procurement activities, and IT services contracting. At least four years of relevant experience in IT, procurement, contract management, service delivery, and/or consulting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch. What are we offering? Attractive and comprehensive employment conditions: a competitive salary, with variable compensation aligned with the responsibility and impact of your role, complemented by paid leave, mobility options, and a pension scheme. The best of two worlds: the intellectual sharpness and quality of a high end consultancy firm, combined with the agility and engagement of an entrepreneurial organization. Responsibility, autonomy, and entrepreneurship: from the very start, you take ownership in projects and client work, with plenty of room to take initiative, supported by experienced colleagues. Collaborating in an accessible environment: you work in a setting where decision making is close to the action and ideas quickly gain traction. Flexible working with strong connection: hybrid working is possible, combined with regular moments where we come together for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and team activities such as inspiring sessions and the Highberg Festival.
