Lead WordPress Development Specialist at Sciential BV in Rotterdam Sciential is a digital marketing agency exclusively serving the life sciences sector. From our HQ in Rotterdam, we’ve worked with 100+ clients across Europe and Asia. Since our start in 2020, we’ve grown to a team of 30+ experts, and we’re looking for a new Wordpress Development Specialist to join our journey. Are you our new WordPress Development Specialist? At Sciential, we help leading biotech, medtech, and pharma companies grow through digital marketing. A key part of our work is building and optimizing websites that communicate complex science in a clear and engaging way. That’s where you come in. We’re looking for a Web Development Specialist to help us design, develop, and maintain websites for our clients. This is an ideal role for someone with strong technical skills, a creative mindset, and an interest in working in the life sciences industry. What does a typical day look like at Sciential? It’s Monday morning at our Rotterdam office. After a quick coffee, you start by reviewing a client’s website performance and making small improvements to optimize loading speed. Next, you join a call with the design team to discuss a new biotech website concept and translate mockups into a responsive layout. Around lunch, you join your colleagues on the rooftop terrace before finalizing a landing page for an upcoming pharma campaign. In the afternoon, you troubleshoot a WordPress plugin issue, add a new feature for a client’s site, and end the day with a short brainstorm on how to improve website security across projects. Some days are more about coding, others about design or problem-solving, but every day you contribute to building world-class digital experiences for life sciences companies. Core Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain client websites, translating design mockups into responsive layouts and building features and campaign landing pages. Optimize website performance and loading speed, troubleshoot WordPress plugins, and contribute to improving website security.

Requirements

Candidates should have at least two years of WordPress development experience, experience with responsive design and modern frameworks, and the ability to turn designs into functional websites. The role also calls for attention to detail, creativity, technical precision, proactive and structured teamwork, and fluent English; an interest in life sciences is an advantage, and Dutch is a plus.
