AI Engineering Intern — Bali, Indonesia
Key Skills
Job Description
BALI, INDONESIA · ON-SITE · UNPAID · 4 TO 6 MONTHS · PATH TO FULL-TIME Build AI that controls physical systems, not chatbots. You'll work on reinforcement learning, computer vision and sensor-driven inference for industrial plants, bioproduction lines and edge devices. Your models run in production on real hardware. Who we are We build and operate a portfolio of companies from a 4,000 sqm campus in Canggu, Bali, with 20+ years of company building across New York, London and Tokyo. Interns work across our portfolio companies, for example: • Zero-X: thermochemical conversion and distributed energy, with 200+ systems live in 11 countries. • SERAPH: decentralized bioproduction combining AI, robotics and synthetic biology on one platform. • Gemino AI: safe reinforcement learning for industrial control. Its OptiVX platform runs autonomous plant operations and aquatic biomass management, alongside Project Maya, a wearable AI platform. What you'll work on • Train and fine-tune models for industrial control, process optimization and sensor-based inference. • Build data pipelines: ingest, clean and label sensor streams and production data. • Deploy models into production, including on edge hardware and on-site inference nodes. • Evaluate model performance against real-world industrial metrics, not just benchmark scores. • Collaborate with software and hardware engineers to integrate models into live systems. • Document experiments, architectures and results for reproducibility. What we're looking for • Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Engineering or a related technical field (completed or final year). • Comfortable with Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow, NumPy, pandas and Jupyter. • You understand ML fundamentals: supervised learning, neural nets, evaluation methodology. • A portfolio of ML work: a trained model, a competition entry, a project or research paper. • You work independently, learn fast and solve problems on your own. What you get • Models deployed in production, not left in a notebook — real industrial impact. • 11 AM to 5 PM, daily lunch included. • On-campus rooms at competitive rates. • A path into a full-time role across the group for strong performers. Good to know: this is an unpaid, fully on-site internship in Bali. No remote or hybrid option. Apply below with your CV and a project you built.
