Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer in Supply Chain, you’ll be the technical linking pin of the domain. You’ll help build modern AWS solutions that make sure HEMA products end up in the right place, and you’ll contribute to the architecture: what do we build, how, and why? You’ll work with product owners and external developers, bringing technology and the supply chain together. A role where you truly make a difference. this is what you’ll do Supply Chain makes sure that everything we sell is in the right place on time. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll be the technical sparringpartner in this domain. You’ll work hands-on on business applications and integrations on our AWS-stack, while also looking further ahead: you’ll safeguard the architecture, make sure solutions fit HEMA’s standards, and prevent us from reinventing the wheel with every new integration. You’ll work closely with several product owners and external developers who build different parts of the business. You’ll contribute to technical decisions, help others move forward, and form the link between engineering and supply chain. That way, you’ll grow into the go-to person for technology and architecture in the domain. You’ll start right away with a great challenge: rebuilding the forecasting and replenishment integrations with Blue Yonder, around 17 data connections in both directions. You’ll work in a modern, serverless AWS-environment using TypeScript, Python, AWS Lambda, EventBridge, and Step Functions, among others, with event-driven integrations via Kafka, DCL, and data mesh (DataZone). You’ll design and build APIs and microservices, connect SaaS platforms, and make smart choices to replace outdated integrations with future-proof solutions. SAP will also cross your path: you don’t need to be an SAP-expert, but you do want to understand how it works and how we can connect it smartly to AWS. this is what we offer At HEMA, you’ll experience an environment where people truly work together. You’ll receive proper guidance, useful feedback, and gain valuable experience. Whether you are looking to extend your knowledge and skills or to help others grow, you are welcome here. In addition, at HEMA you’ll get: 💸 A competitive salary that matches your knowledge and experience. 🌴 30 vacation days (based on a 40-hour week) and 8% holiday allowance, so you can recharge in time. 🎯 A variable bonus of up to 14% of your annual salary – depending on our collective results. 💸 A net monthly expense allowance. 🎄 A fixed year-end bonus of 4% of your annual salary. 🛍️ 15% staff discount on all your HEMA favorites – from tompouce pastries to towels and notebooks. 🧓 A solid pension plan, so you’re well taken care of later too. 🚗 Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometer (starting from 10 km one-way, up to a max of 30 km). 🎡 Access to the ‘benefits at work’ platform, with discounts on top brands, day trips, and other extras that make life more fun. this is what you bring to HEMA You’re a team player with a broad technical outlook. You like to take the lead on technical decisions, but with an eye for the people around you: you explain things clearly, persuade with arguments, and think along with product owners and external developers. You’re curious, enjoy learning new technologies, and take the initiative. In addition, you bring: Extensive experience as a senior full stack or software engineer, with a strong backend affinity, in a complex technical environment. Strong experience with cloud-native and serverless development on AWS (such as Lambda, EventBridge, and Step Functions). Experience with API development, system integrations, and microservices, preferably with TypeScript. Knowledge of event-driven architecture, preferably with Kafka. Experience connecting SaaS platforms or third-party systems. The ability to make, substantiate, and explain architectural choices: you know when to build, improve, or simply simplify. Interest in SAP and the desire to understand how it works (experience is a plus). Nice to have: experience with data mesh/AWS DataZone, SQL, DynamoDB, Kong, or GitHub. HEMA At HEMA, over 17,000 colleagues work together to create a better everyday life in a more beautiful world. With products that are more practical, more beautiful, better – and that last longer too. And with colorful stores in towns, cities, and online. We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but we’re not done yet. HEMA is truly HEMA again and ready for the next step. Our ambition? To become a frontrunner in a challenging market. We do this together, as one team, with proud colleagues, entrepreneurs, and partners. By playing to win. That means being curious, seizing opportunities, working together with joy, and always aiming for the best result. You dare to speak up and challenge others to become better together. With your unique contribution, you can help build the HEMA of tomorrow. Are you in?
