RedCarpet is looking for an experienced Senior IBM IMS Specialist for one of our clients. You will join an established mainframe team, working alongside two experienced IMS specialists to maintain a stable, reliable and high-performing environment. This is a hands-on senior role covering IMS DB, IMS TM, IMS Connect and IMS Catalog within an IBM z/OS environment. You will combine system administration with performance tuning, incident resolution and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities Configure, administer and optimize IBM IMS environments, including IMS DB and IMS TM. Manage and support IMS Connect and IMS Catalog. Monitor database and transaction processing performance, identify bottlenecks and implement improvements. Install, maintain and support IMS system software. Investigate complex incidents, resolve performance issues and address underlying causes. Plan and implement technical changes with careful attention to availability and operational continuity. Maintain technical documentation and share knowledge within the team. What you bring Extensive hands-on experience with IBM IMS, including IMS DB and IMS TM. Practical experience with IMS Connect and IMS Catalog. Strong knowledge of IBM z/OS and mainframe operations. Proven experience in IMS database administration, performance tuning and troubleshooting. A solid understanding of environments with high availability and continuity requirements. The ability to assess technical risks and implement changes carefully. An independent, analytical approach and the ability to collaborate effectively within a small team of specialists. Why this role?
