SOFTWARE ENGINEER Location: Leiden Salary Indication: €3,000 – €4,500 gross per month Do you have experience in software engineering for robotics or industrial automation? Do you get excited about delivering a brand-new piece of software on our new and existing robots and can you deliver required releases within the discussed timeline? Then apply at Alsys International. WHAT WILL YOU DO? As Software Engineer, you will contribute on the current and newer versions of the Alsys software. You work closely with our Robot Engineers, discuss customer specific requirements for the robot software and will work on new releases. The whole process will be covered from software design to delivery. You will report to the software lead. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES You design, build, and test software for our new and existing laboratory robots You translate customer-specific requirements into working robot software together with our Robot Engineers You contribute to the architecture of the Alsys software platform You integrate external software of analytical equipment within our software stack You take releases from design through testing to delivery, within the agreed timeline You review code and keep technical documentation up to date WHAT DO WE ASK? You have at least 2 years of experience in software development, mainly in C# and/or C++ You have experience with software architecture and design Affinity with robotics, machine control, or industrial automation. Experience in the field is a strong plus You are comfortable in the .NET ecosystem and with Git, and ideally have written software that talks to hardware (PLC communication, OPC UA, or motion control) You have experience with Agile software development You keep up with developments in the software field and bring new ideas into the team Experience with custom machinery or system integration is a plus Fluent in English; Dutch is a strong plus WHAT DO WE OFFER? Core Responsibilities

Contribute to the software platform architecture, integrate analytical equipment software, support testing and installation, review code, and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

At least two years of software development experience, primarily with C# and/or C++, plus experience in software architecture and design. Candidates should be comfortable with .NET, Git, and Agile development, and have an interest in robotics or industrial automation; hardware communication, custom machinery, and system integration experience are advantageous.
