Distribution Center Associate - 40 hours - Utrecht

Function description

As a distribution center Associate, you are responsible for the unloading, receiving, put away, picking, packing, shipping and cycle count of the EMEA warehouse. This is a flex position and focus area may shift.

Every day the supervisor and the coordinator will determine the task that needs to be handled by you. In your function, you will work closely with the warehouse supervisor. On a daily base the supervisor will determine together with you, which tasks should get priority.

In headlines and per department your tasks will be:

Inbound Associate

• Determine priorities in receiving and receive the goods;
• Making sure put away is processed in an efficient and timely manner.
• Responsible for replying on e-mails in the inbound e-mailbox in a timely manner;
• Inform the supervisor & coordinator on the progress of the receiving;
• Making sure there is always a clear overview on what to receive;
• Addressing issues with receiving asap and show hands-on mentality in solving these issues;
• Stock optimization: making sure all will be put on location in the most optimal way (same items on same locations as much as possible);
• Helping with stock control in general;

Outbound Associate

• Making sure that all orders are getting picked, packed and shipped in the most optimal way;
• Inform the supervisor & coordinator on the progress of the outbound;
• Making sure there is always a clear overview on what to process;
• Addressing issues with outbound asap and show hands-on mentality in solving these issues;
• Helping with stock control in general.

Job requirements

• MBO work and thinking level;
• You have a good sense of what warehousing is all about;
• You have a lean six sigma mindset;
• You are hands-on, you do not drop problems somewhere else, but you try to solve them in the best possible way;
• When you are not able to solve certain problems you try to give suggestions to the supervisor/manager;
• You preferably already have experience in a similar role;
• You are customer-oriented and like to go the extra mile for the customer to ensure high quality;
• You have a good command of the Dutch and English language, spoken and written;
• You are independent and know how to tackle issues in an efficient way;
• You have great communication skills and capable to leverage with people of different backgrounds.
• You approach each issue with positive energy and you always try to do your best to prevent issues from happening again.
