Job Title

IT Internship Housing Tech | Software Development, AI & Data | Utrecht

Job Description

Would you like to learn and contribute to software development, artificial intelligence, DevOps, data analysis or dashboarding as an intern at Rabobank?

Summary

As an IT intern at Rabobank, you will gain practical experience within Tribe Housing, Area Sales & Distribution Channels. Depending on your degree programme, interests and the available assignment, you will work on a technical or research-based challenge. Within Tribe Housing, Area Sales & Distribution Channels, we work on the technology behind Rabobank’s housing and mortgage services. Our teams develop and improve digital solutions, modernise applications and explore how technologies such as AI and data can make our services smarter and more effective.

You will work independently on your internship assignment while collaborating with developers, DevOps engineers, a product owner, business analysts and other colleagues.

At a glance

  • Work on a current IT assignment involving software development, AI, monitoring, data or dashboarding.
  • Investigate a relevant challenge and develop a proof of concept, application improvement, dashboard or technical solution.
  • Gain experience in a professional IT environment and turn your findings into tangible results for the team.

What will you learn and do as an IT intern?

Your specific internship assignment will be determined based on your degree programme, learning objectives and the assignments available within the department. Your activities may include:

  • Exploring how AI can support DevOps engineers with monitoring, incident analysis, root cause analysis and the summarisation of technical signals.
  • Improving an online application by centralising business logic in the backend, developing unit tests and implementing Angular components in the frontend.
  • Exploring and analysing available data and designing a dashboard that provides users with clear, actionable insights.
  • Developing a proof of concept in which you compare an existing approach with an improved approach, analyse the results and make recommendations.

An assignment may be primarily technical, research-based or a combination of both. You will have the freedom to work independently, explore ideas and discuss your findings with colleagues in the team.

Skills, tools and areas of expertise

Depending on the available assignment, you may work with or develop your knowledge of:

  • Java, Kotlin or Spring Boot
  • Angular and frontend development
  • backend development and unit testing
  • AI agents, skills, prompts and project instructions
  • DevOps monitoring
  • data analysis and dashboarding
  • proof-of-concept development
  • stakeholder analysis and presenting research results.

You are not expected to have experience with all these skills and tools. The knowledge required will depend on the specific internship assignment.

Together, we achieve more than we could alone

We believe in the power of differences. By combining people’s different perspectives, we become an even better bank. We are curious to find out what you will bring to our Tribe Housing, Area Sales & Distribution Channels team.

Within this department, internship assignments may involve IT development, AI, DevOps, data and research. You will collaborate with professionals such as developers, DevOps engineers, product owners and business analysts. For some assignments, you will work independently on your research while actively involving the team to obtain feedback, specialist knowledge and validation.

Work on yourself and the world around you

For us, your development and that of society go hand in hand. That is why we want to invest in you and work together towards a better world. We summarise this in one sentence: at Rabobank, you work on yourself and the world around you at the same time.

Your development as an intern

During your internship at Rabobank, your development will take centre stage while you gain practical experience in a professional environment.

You will learn how technical and research-based challenges are addressed within a large organisation. Depending on your assignment, you will develop your skills in software development, AI, DevOps, data analysis, research and stakeholder collaboration.
