Howden Netherlands in Hengelo is part of Chart Industries and is the "Center of Excellence" for cooling fans, with production facilities in Europe and China. The fans are used in cooling towers, air-cooled steam condensers and air-cooled heat exchangers for use a wide range of markets like power, oil & gas, chemical and HVAC (datacenters). We are characterized by professionalism, result orientation and are ready for a new period of development and growth.
We are now looking for a Service Engineer to join our Maintenance Team located in Hengelo and who will support activities within the Service Center. You will, under full supervision of the Senior Service Engineer, perform start-up activities, overhaul, repair, assemble and set up new or used fans and installations at customers in the Netherlands and abroad, according with the customer’s set safety and quality requirements.
What Will You Do?
- Make the necessary preparation based on the scope of work and collect the required materials and tools to be fully prepared to prevent delays according to the instructions of the (Senior) Service Engineer
- Under supervision of the (Senior) Service Engineer perform activities such as disassembly and assembly, protocol, installation, adjustment, alignment, vibration analysis, transportation, lifting and test runs
- Control of own performed work and corrects where needed.
- Ask questions shows initiative to further develop own technical knowledge
- Provide simple week and time lists Takes initiatives to ensure work runs optimally.
- Follows up on set quality and safety requirements. Observes and reports unsafe situations. Contributes to the improvement of own safety
What do you bring?
- MBO Technical such as Mechanical Engineering or similar.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Technician position.
- In making clear daily reports.
- Service-oriented/customer-oriented.
- Flexible.
- English language skills.
- Dutch language skills
Core Responsibilities
The Service Engineer will perform start-up, overhaul, repair, and assembly of cooling fans and installations at customer sites. They will work under the supervision of a Senior Service Engineer to ensure all technical tasks meet safety and quality standards.
Requirements
Candidates must hold an MBO degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field and possess at least 2 years of experience in a technician role. Proficiency in both English and Dutch is required, along with a service-oriented mindset.
