Job Description

The Hengelo Manufacturing plant is part of Eaton’s Power Distribution Systems (PDS) that delivers advanced switchgear solutions that power critical infrastructure across utilities, data centres and industrial sectors. On the back of the global trends Energy Transition and Artificial Intelligence, PDS is scaling rapidly through strategic investments and global partnerships. The Hengelo plant is growing accordingly. The Hengelo site also serves as PDS Research&Development Center and EMEA Service Center for AfterMarket applications and hosts in total approximately 500 FTE.

Eaton's Electrical division is currently seeking a Lead Finance Analyst to join our team in Hengelo, Netherlands.

What you’ll do:

Are you a hands-on finance professional who enjoys combining financial analysis with operational involvement in a dynamic international manufacturing environment? Do you have a strong analytical mindset, a solid understanding of financial processes, and the communication skills to translate financial data into meaningful business insights?

We are looking for a Lead Financial Analyst to strengthen our site finance team in Hengelo. In this role, you will play an important part in financial reporting, performance analysis, planning and forecasting, and continuous improvement of our financial processes.

You will work closely with colleagues across Finance, Operations and other functions to ensure accurate financial information, explain business performance, and support informed decision-making. This is a role for someone who is comfortable working hands-on with data, systems and reporting, while also being eager to take on broader responsibilities over time.

Main responsibilities:

  • Prepare, analyze and explain monthly financial results, including actuals versus budget, forecast and prior year.
  • Analyze sales variances and manufacturing cost drivers, including labour, material costs, productivity, absorption and other operational variances and coordinate improvement actions with operational teams.
  • Work with Operations and other stakeholders to understand business performance, challenge assumptions and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Working hands-on in SAP and other financial systems, combining transactional activities with analytical and business partnering responsibilities.
  • Share knowledge and contribute to a culture of accountability, continuous learning and constructive challenge.
  • Develop towards broader financial planning, business partnering and leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in a financial analysis, controlling or FP&A role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience with SAP; knowledge of Excel and reporting or data visualisation tools is an advantage.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage with stakeholders across different functions and levels.
  • A proactive, hands-on mindset, with a willingness to work through operational details while keeping the bigger picture in view.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English.

What we are looking for

Beyond technical capabilities, we are looking for someone who combines analytical depth, practical execution and strong interpersonal skills.

You take responsibility for the quality of your work, ask questions when something does not add up, and are comfortable challenging information constructively. You can explain financial topics in a straightforward way and build effective relationships with colleagues outside Finance.

You are curious about how a manufacturing business operates and want to understand the operational drivers behind the numbers. At the same time, you are ambitious to broaden your perspective, develop your business partnering skills and gradually take on more responsibility.

You do not need to know everything from day one. What matters is that you have a solid financial foundation, a strong sense of ownership and the potential to grow.

What we offer

  • Competitive compensation package
  • Challenging international working environment, in a company that is positioned for double digit growth
  • Local and international career opportunities

Our finance team

You will join a finance team consisting of a Finance Manager, a FP&A Manager, two Financial Analysts and a Finance Trainee. We work closely with the operations organisation and support the business through reliable financial information, insightful analysis and constructive business partnering.

We value collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement and the development of our people. We are looking for a colleague who will strengthen the team today and has the potential to contribute at an even broader level in the future.
