Job Description
Are you a creative and experienced Electrical Engineer ready for the next step in your career? To stay ahead in our industry, Allseas develops a lot of our automated equipment in-house. As an Electrical Engineer at our office in Eindhoven, you will play a pivoting role in driving the design, development and implementation of cutting-edge electronics in our custom built machinery for inspection of subsea pipelines. Allseas is a world-leading contractor in the offshore energy market, with dynamism, rapid progress and pioneering spirit at its core. We continuously develop new techniques and applications to stay ahead in an ever changing industry. Your role As an Electrical Engineer you will design the electronics of custom built equipment from scratch. Our equipment is built bespoke for our fleet, so we focus is on highly specialized one-offs instead of on high-volume series production. Together with a multidisciplinary team you will determine what the electronic system is supposed to achieve and define functional requirements, inputs, outputs and other interfaces. We like to approach this design challenge on a system level and focus attention where it matters, so our equipment is built using a mix of off-the-shelve industrial components combined with custom PCBs and wiring harnesses. Designing these PCBs (schematic and routing) and breaking down the system into logical components and interfaces will be part of your job. You are responsible for the component selection and the prototyping. Adjustment needed after testing and quality control will be implemented to the prototype followed by a testing programme together with our (offshore) end-users. What we expect from you For This Job You Will Need Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics; Three to five years of proven experience in developing electronics; A fundamental understanding of electrical and electronics design; Affinity with KiCAD and EPLAN is beneficial but not strictly required; The ability to create structured and logical breakdowns of your designs for clear communication with your colleagues (including those from different disciplines); A solid understanding of PCB manufacturing techniques and related connection technologies (board-to-wire, wire-to-wire, etc.); A basic understanding of EMI issues and mitigation strategies. Beneficial But Not Strictly Required Affinity with industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT, CAN(Open), PROFINET and ModBus; A basic understanding of embedded / industrial software development; A basic understanding of motor / servo control. Besides the above mentioned requirements, you recognise yourself in the following characteristics. You are very flexible and keep up the positive spirit if a project makes a 90 degree turn from one day to the other. You enjoy starting from scratch and have plenty ideas how to solve a task or problem. Besides that, you like being responsible from concept to commissioning and you are able to take decisions by yourself. Your good communication skills will help you to defend and explain the choices you made to everybody involved. What we Offer Joining Allseas gives you the chance to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, with creative thinking, collaboration and down-to-earth culture at its core. You Can Expect Competitive industry benchmarked salary and excellent pension; Performance based salary raises and bonuses; 30 holidays days per year, flexible working hours; Company-sponsored fitness scheme; On-the-job training, study budgets and coaching; A close-knit community, BBQ’s, parties, (sportive) events and Friday afternoon drinks.
