Job Description Job Summary Every minute counts in the logistics world. Do you always have an eye on what’s happening, and do you know how to respond? As a vehicle shifter at UPS, you’re an important link in our logistics chain. Are you interested in further developing your talent within an international organization with endless possibilities? What You’ll Do As a vehicle shifter at UPS, you know what’s going on at the yard. You have an exemplary function and understand the value of punctuality. Nothing happens without you realizing it, and you intervene when necessary. That means that you also dare to address your colleagues when things aren’t going as they should. What does an average working day look like for you? Before you start, you check with the help of a checklist whether your car is in order. Then you start with your work shift at the yard, receiving all assignments via an on-board computer. During the day you regularly communicate with the control room. At the end of your shift, you ensure that all containers and trailers are properly closed, and you also check your car again. Are there any defects? Then you report this before you go home. What You’ll Need High school diploma or international equivalent. 2 years’ experience driving vehicles. A valid B driving license. The physical condition to manually secure a container to a trailer or truck. Knowledge of package handling principles. Flexibility: your start time may fluctuate according to when the operation starts. Core Responsibilities

Inspect the vehicle before and after each shift, move vehicles around the yard, and follow assignments received through an on-board computer. Communicate regularly with the control room, ensure containers and trailers are secured and closed, and report defects or operational issues.

Requirements

Applicants must have a high school diploma or international equivalent, at least two years of vehicle-driving experience, and a valid B driving license. They must be physically able to secure containers manually, understand package-handling principles, and be flexible about start times.
