Company Description
Welcome to JYSK!
JYSK is a rapidly growing retail chain with more than 3,000 stores in 50 countries. To support this growth logistically, our 10th distribution centre is being built in Lelystad. Construction is well underway, and the distribution centre is expected to become operational in early 2027.
But of course, that doesn’t mean we’re sitting still until then! Our team is currently working hard at our temporary distribution centre to ensure a smooth transition to the new location.
Job Description
As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you play a key technical role within our distribution centre. You are responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, maintenance and continuous improvement of our automated warehouse systems, including the High Bay system.
With at least five years of experience working with automated systems, you are able to independently analyse and resolve complex technical faults. You look beyond immediate issues and actively contribute ideas for structural improvements, reliability and efficiency.
You also play an important role in transferring knowledge to your colleagues. You mentor and train other technicians, share your practical experience and contribute to the continued development of the technical team.
You work closely with the Technical Department, other departments within the distribution centre and colleagues at other JYSK distribution centres. Depending on operational needs, you will work either day shifts or a two-shift rotation. Working hours will be agreed upon in consultation.
Your responsibilities as a Senior Maintenance Technician are:

- Operating and maintaining crane systems within automated warehouse environments.
- Monitoring the availability, reliability and continuity of technical installations.
- Training, mentoring and supporting fellow technicians with technical tasks, fault analysis and maintenance procedures.
- Acting as a technical point of contact for colleagues and contributing to the development of technical knowledge within the team.
- Analysing recurring faults and initiating long-term, structural improvements.
- Identifying and implementing improvements in safety, efficiency and cost control.
- Contributing ideas for new technical solutions and optimising maintenance processes.
- Actively contributing to a safe working environment and complying with applicable Health & Safety and fire safety procedures.
Qualifications
- A completed technical qualification or demonstrable relevant work experience in electrical engineering, mechatronics, industrial automation or a comparable field.
- At least five years of relevant experience working with automated systems, preferably in a logistics, industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrable experience with crane installations, preferably cranes used in automated warehouse systems.
- Good knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance, with experience analysing and resolving complex technical faults.
- Experience mentoring, instructing and training colleagues, or the motivation and skills to take a leading role in this area.
- An analytical and solution-oriented mindset, focusing not only on resolving faults but also on identifying their underlying causes.
- An eye for technical improvements, process optimisation and cost control.
- A strong safety awareness and the discipline to ensure compliance with procedures and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- A proactive, independent and flexible approach to work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical knowledge clearly to others.
- Willingness to travel locally and attend meetings as required.
