AIT Worldwide Logistics is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Air Import Agent to join the team in Rozenburg (Schiphol area). About the Role As an Air Import Agent, you are the operational engine behind our incoming air freight shipments. From the moment freight leaves the origin location overseas until final delivery to the end customer in Europe, you maintain full control of the process. Working closely with your team, Supervisor, and external stakeholders, you ensure all import operations run smoothly, accurately, and on schedule. Key Responsibilities: End-to-End Import Operations: Coordinate and execute day-to-day air freight import shipments from origin to destination. Customer Service & Problem Solving: Act as the main operational point of contact for clients. Proactively communicate shipment updates, milestones, and delays, resolving non-routine issues efficiently. Documentation & Data Integrity: Review and process shipping documentation (e.g., AWBs, customs documents, commercial invoices) and ensure precise data entry in CargoWise. Financial Control & Billing: Prepare accurate shipment quotations, verify vendor billing, manage shipment margins, and ensure timely financial closing of files within company guidelines. Compliance & Security: Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, TSA/VGB security guidelines, and Dangerous Goods regulations. Qualifications & Requirements We are looking for a proactive professional with a high-performance mindset who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Experience: 2 to 5 years of operational experience within air freight forwarding (specifically Air Import). Background Check (VGB): Possess or be eligible to pass a Dutch VGB (Verklaring van Geen Bezwaar) security screening (mandatory requirement). Systems: Proficiency in CargoWise is highly preferred; solid PC skills (MS Office) are required. Language Skills: Fluent written and spoken English is mandatory. Proficiency in Dutch is a strong asset. Attributes: High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, customer-focused, and a true team player with a "get-it-done" attitude. Core Responsibilities

Coordinate air import shipments from origin through final delivery, maintaining accurate documentation and shipment data while communicating updates and resolving customer issues. Prepare quotations, verify vendor billing, manage shipment margins, close files on time, and ensure compliance with security and dangerous goods requirements.

Requirements

Requires 2 to 5 years of operational experience in air freight forwarding, specifically air import, and eligibility to pass the Dutch VGB security screening. Fluent written and spoken English, strong PC and Microsoft Office skills, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a customer-focused team approach are required; CargoWise proficiency is preferred and Dutch is an asset.
