Job Description

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you make sure every system on board our UAVs works together without interfering with each other.

On a mission

DeltaQuad develops advanced VTOL UAV systems for defense, public safety, and commercial operators worldwide. Demand is growing fast, and so is the number of developments we run in parallel. That is why we are building an organization that can scale with it.

The role

Our VTOL UAVs are electrically complex products. On one side there is high-power propulsion: motors and speed controllers. On the other side there are the microcontrollers and electronics that control everything. And at the heart of the aircraft sits a modular payload bay, where we integrate cameras, radio relays, lidar, and other systems for our customers.

Every new payload integration brings new RF and EMC challenges. A transponder that transmits and receives radio signals can interfere with everything else on board. A PCB trace that happens to match an onboard radio's wavelength suddenly acts as an antenna and picks up noise. Today, this is where we lose most of our time, and where you make the difference.

We are looking for a senior engineer who has solved these problems before and knows which solution works, whether that is shielding, grounding, filtering, or a smarter layout. You take ownership of electrical design and RF and EMC performance, work closely with our embedded, systems, and Test & Flight engineers, and help the team grow by sharing what you know.

What you bring

You are an experienced electrical engineer who feels at home in compact electronics, where power, signals, and radios share very little space. Your background lies in airborne, automotive, or other high-tech products rather than in high-voltage installations or the process industry. You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field. You also bring:

  • Around 7 or more years of experience in electrical and electronics design for complex products

  • Proven hands-on experience solving RF interference and EMC issues, including shielding, grounding, and filtering

  • Experience with PCB design and layout review for mixed-signal and RF environments

  • Knowledge of EMC compliance and testing, and of how to design for it from the start

  • Professional proficiency in English

Nice to have

Experience with UAVs, aerospace, defense, or automotive electronics. Knowledge of high-power propulsion electronics, such as motor controllers and ESCs, is a plus.

What success looks like

New payloads go from integration to flight without weeks of chasing interference. You spot RF and EMC risks in the design phase, our engineers learn from your experience, and our aircraft perform reliably in the field.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary

  • A key role in scaling our engineering organization, with real ownership of your portfolio

  • Work on advanced UAV technology with real-world applications

  • 27 vacation days based on full-time employment

  • A 38-hour workweek with flexible working hours

  • € 0.25/km travel reimbursement or full reimbursement of second-class public transportation

  • An excellent pension scheme through PME Pension Fund

  • A varied, well-kept lunch at DeltaQuad, monthly team drinks, an open, informal culture where colleagues support each other to reach high standards and production, and where your expertise counts

Please note: As part of our recruitment process, we may request a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and conduct a background screening in accordance with our screening policy.

Core Responsibilities

You will take ownership of electrical design, RF, and EMC performance for complex VTOL UAV systems. You will collaborate with embedded, systems, and test engineers to ensure seamless integration of payloads and reliable aircraft performance.

Requirements

The role requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 7 years of experience in complex product design. You must have proven hands-on expertise in solving RF and EMC issues, including shielding, grounding, and filtering.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • 27 vacation days
  • Travel reimbursement
  • Pension scheme
  • Lunch provided
  • Monthly team drinks
