Key Skills
Job Description
About the Job: DPW is looking for an Events & Project Executive who has already worked at startup speed and wants to keep doing it. This role goes beyond event logistics. You'll take ownership of projects, make them better each edition, and help curate experiences that reflect the energy and vision of DPW's growing global ecosystem. As an Events & Project Executive, you'll play a key role in shaping and running DPW's events: our conferences DPW Amsterdam & DPW New York, plus partner activations and community gatherings. You won't be handed a finished playbook. You'll take over existing projects such as our Awards, Side Events and DPW 365 (this is our year round offering of smaller gatherings and events, varying from dinners to webinars and sport activities), own them end-to-end and find ways to improve them. Because we operate as a global team, our working language is English. The events team will consist of 8 people and you will report directly to Martijn Vrijken, the Head of Events. If you've already proven yourself in a fast-moving startup or scale-up, you've delivered live events, and you're the kind of person who spots what could be better and just does it, this is your opportunity to make a mark on one of Europe's most exciting innovation communities. Key Responsibilities Project Ownership: Take full ownership of projects like our Awards, Side Events and DPW 365. Review how they run today, identify what can be improved, and drive those improvements from idea to execution. Event Planning & Coordination: Own part of the full-cycle planning and delivery of both our conferences and community events, from concept and preparation through to on-site execution and post-event evaluation. Project Management: Coordinate timelines, budgets, and deliverables across multiple stakeholders, often with short lead times and shifting priorities. Keep things moving without needing to be chased. Partner & Participant Relations: Act as a key point of contact for sponsors, exhibitors, startups and speakers, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring a great experience before, during, and after the event. Vendor & Budget Management: Manage event budgets and vendor negotiations, and proactively look for ways to work more efficiently and cost-effectively. Logistics & On-site Execution: Manage event logistics including travel, accommodation, shipping, and setup. Be actively involved during event days and solve problems on the spot. Content & Speaker Support: Help coordinate speaker sessions and make sure all event content aligns with the event's objectives and brand voice. Reporting & Evaluation: Gather feedback, analyse results and turn learnings into concrete proposals that make the next edition better. Required Skills & Experience Startup Experience: At least 1 year working in a startup or scale-up. You know what it means to move fast, wear multiple hats and work without fixed processes, and you enjoy it. Events Experience: 2–4 years of hands-on experience in event management or production, ideally conferences, B2B events or large-scale activations. You've been on-site and you know what it takes to deliver a live event. Initiative & Ownership: You don't wait to be told what to do. You can show examples of projects you've taken over, improved or built from scratch. Organisational Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent time management, able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines at once. Hands-On Mindset: You thrive in execution, love being on-site, and handle challenges with a solution-oriented attitude. Communication: Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills for managing partners, startups and participants. Tech & Startup Interest: A genuine interest in technology, innovation, and the startup ecosystem. Digital Know-How: Familiarity with event tools (registration systems, CRM, project management platforms) and interest in using AI tools to optimise event planning and engagement. Why join DPW Be a part of the leading tech ecosystem that is shaping the future of digital and sustainable procurement and supply chain management. Be at the forefront of emerging technologies, trends and startups. Real ownership from day one. Your ideas won't sit in a backlog; you'll be the one bringing them to life. A fun, dynamic and open work environment, free from rigid corporate structures and hierarchy. With flexible working hours and a casual atmosphere, we help you grow and thrive in a collaborative setting. An inspiring workplace at WeWork, with a bar & great view in the center of Amsterdam. Growth opportunities. We're growing and you'll grow with us, if you prove to be a valuable member of our team. Salary range: €41.000-€46.000
