Business Development Student Worker
Key Skills
Job Description
Business Development Student Worker 16 to 24 hours per week | The Hague Ever wondered how a fast-moving cybersecurity company turns interest into customers? This is where it happens. You’ll work on real leads, real conversations and real pipeline, not from the sidelines. The Role You’re studying a commercial programme and want serious sales experience alongside your degree. From your first week, you work with real prospects, from corporate security teams to government organisations, and with partners who use Modat in their own services. More and more organisations discover Modat through Magnify, trials, our research and our marketing. Much of that inflow is automated, but a lead only becomes an opportunity when someone understands who they are and what they need. You’ll work between our marketing and sales team to bring in more of the right leads and make sure none of them goes quiet. As you get to know Modat, our customers and our sales process, you’ll take on more conversations yourself. What You Will Do Lead Generation Research target organisations and the people in them, so outreach starts from a reason, not a template. Work with marketing to turn events, campaigns and research into new leads. Lead Qualification Enrich leads with company, role and context data, so the team knows who they are talking to before the first conversation. Qualify leads: is there a real need, the right person and the right moment? Follow-Up Follow up on marketing qualified leads (MQLs) and move them as far forward as they can go, whether that is a sales conversation, a later follow-up or a clear no. Follow up with trial users who have shown interest but need an answer, more information or a nudge. Building Pipeline Keep our CRM accurate, so marketing and sales see the same picture of every lead. Flag where the sales process gets stuck and help find smarter ways to run it. AI as a Working Tool Use Claude and other AI tools for research, enrichment and preparing outreach. Contribute ideas on how we can automate more of the repetitive work. If you’re exceptionally good at something specific, such as research, writing, data or picking up the phone, there’s room for that too. At Modat, you can focus on the tasks that match your strengths. Tell us what you’re good at, and we’ll figure out together how that fits. What You Bring This role is open to two different profiles. The first, and our preference, is a student of Commercial Economics, Business Administration, International Business, Marketing or a related programme who wants hands-on experience building pipeline in a sharp, technically driven environment. The second is a security, computer science or data student who embraces Modat’s mission and wants to learn how a security company finds and wins its customers. Whether you study at a university or a university of applied sciences, in The Hague, Leiden, Delft or Rotterdam, don’t hesitate to reach out if helping a European Internet Intelligence company grow its pipeline appeals to you. What matters most is that you take initiative, follow through, and want to contribute to something with real stakes. Requirements You’re studying Commercial Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. You’re available for 16 to 24 hours per week. You live in The Hague area. This is not a fully remote job. You write clearly in English. Dutch is an advantage. You’re organised, take initiative, and follow through on commitments. You enjoy talking to people and pick up the phone without hesitation. You’re comfortable working with AI tools and curious about how to use them well. You have a specific skill you’re proud of, whether that’s research, writing, data, or something else. Please tell us what it is. What We Offer A paid working student role with real responsibilities and direct visibility of your impact. Hands-on experience across the full commercial funnel, from first signal to sales conversation. Close collaboration with our marketing and sales team and direct access to the founding team. A working environment where AI tools are used seriously, not as an afterthought. A front-row seat at a growing European cybersecurity company.
