Job Description

We are hiring a Senior Product Owner who gets energy from structure, flow and a perfectly organised backlog. Someone who wants to make sure great ideas actually reach healthcare professionals through product developments.

Our Mission
Attendi has already built a strong user base through speech-to-text integrations with electronic health record (EHR) vendors, used by over 300 care organisations in elderly and disability care. With the Attendi App, we are building a one-stop solution for AI-driven administration in healthcare: structured documentation, conversation summaries, voice-driven workflows and AI assistance, anytime, anywhere.

Our product and development team is growing fast. Our Product Lead, a former nurse, owns the what and the why: our users, the roadmap and experiments. To keep up with the pace, we’re looking for someone who owns the how and the when: turning that roadmap into well-structured, realistic and predictable delivery, together with our development team leads.

Your Role
As Senior Product Owner at Attendi, you will:

  • Translate roadmap items, experiments and MVPs into epics and user stories, with clear acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements (performance, security, privacy, platforms).

  • Own the development backlog in Jira: clear, up to date and one to two sprints ahead with work that’s ready to build.

  • Set up and guard our Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.

  • Prepare and lead refinement and sprint planning with our dev team leads.

  • Propose 6-week cycle goals and sprint goals, based on capacity, dependencies, risk and effort.

  • Propose the balance between features, bugs, tech debt and maintenance.

  • Be the first point of contact for developers on tickets, and handle small scope questions yourself.

  • Spot blockers, risks and delays early and solve them with the dev leads.

  • Help turn uncertain AI work into small, measurable experiments.

  • Accept delivered work, prepare phased rollouts and pilots, and write release notes for sales, implementation and support.

  • Make sure our requirements are traceable from requirement to story, test and release, as required for our medical device (MDR) certification.

  • Align technically with EHR vendors and partners on integrations, APIs and releases.

  • Make progress visible with Jira dashboards and delivery metrics.

You might be a good fit if you hit most or all of the following:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner in software product teams.

  • Strong command of Scrum and agile delivery, and you know when to adapt it.

  • Technical enough to discuss solutions with engineers, understand trade-offs and help make realistic estimates.

  • You keep the customer at the centre of the backlog, and link technical work to what users need.

  • You love structure: a clear backlog, a steady rhythm and predictable delivery give you energy.

  • Low ego, high ownership. You’re a builder who wants to ship a bit better every week.

  • You move fast, but carefully. You understand that in healthcare, getting it right matters.

  • Experience with Jira.

  • Fluent in English.

Strong candidates may also

  • Have a background in software engineering.

  • Have experience with AI products, and with an AI-native way of working.

  • Have worked in healthcare or another regulated environment, for example with MDR, IEC 62304 or similar.

  • Have worked with integrations and external partners.

  • Speak Dutch.

What we offer

  • Ideally 32 hours per week.

  • €6,000 - €7,000 per month (based on 40h)

  • Hybrid working: roughly half the week at home, half at our Amsterdam office.

  • Travel and lunch allowance.

  • Home office budget.

  • Lease bike.

  • Training budget of €1,500 per year.

  • Company MacBook.

  • ClassPass membership.

  • Pension contribution of 10% and roughly 7% paid by Attendi.

Our culture: People-oriented, curious, and proactive
At Attendi, you’ll work in a small, ambitious team that learns and builds together. We are empathetic, take initiative, dare to experiment, and stand by our work. Making mistakes is okay as long as you learn from them.

Application Process

  • Intro call with Roundr, our embedded recruitment partner

  • Interview with two people (product and engineering)

  • Case study: a take-home assignment you present at our office

  • Chat with our Product Lead

  • Offer, reference and pre-boarding

Core Responsibilities

Own and maintain a clear, delivery-ready Jira backlog, translating the product roadmap and experiments into epics and user stories with acceptance criteria and requirements. Coordinate refinement, sprint goals, delivery risks, releases, regulatory traceability, and technical alignment with EHR vendors and partners.

Requirements

Candidates should have at least five years of Product Owner experience in software product teams, strong Scrum and agile delivery expertise, technical fluency, and experience with Jira. English fluency is required; software engineering, AI products, regulated healthcare environments, integrations, and Dutch are advantageous.

Benefits

  • Travel Allowance
  • Lunch Allowance
  • Home Office Budget
  • Lease Bike
  • Training Budget
  • Company MacBook
  • ClassPass Membership
  • Pension Contribution

About Attendi

Industry: Software Development

Company size: 11-50 employees

Our mission is simple: more time for care with attention. Today’s care software often demands too much focus and energy, leaving less room for personal contact — the essence of the caregiving profession. Human connection. We believe in using the power of AI to put that relationship back at the center, instead of letting technology get in the way. With speech and AI, Attendi supports where it can and stays invisible where it should — so care professionals can give their time and attention back to clients. Speech-to-text reporting works directly in the EHR. In the Attendi App, everything comes together in one application that feels like a helpful colleague: you talk, we write; you have a conversation, we draft the summary; you ask for an addition, we process it instantly. More than 250 care organizations in elderly and disability care work with Attendi. We carry out our mission together with the Innovatiefonds Ouderenzorg (IFOZ) and, in partnership with Anders Werken in de Zorg and Intrakoop, all Attendi functionalities are included in a national framework agreement. Vilans has independently researched and proven the effectiveness of Attendi.
