On behalf of our premier client in the Netherlands, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Power BI Developer. Our client is an established, forward-thinking enterprise that relies on the Microsoft data ecosystem to drive strategic, data-informed decision-making across the European market. This position requires a physical on-site presence at our client's Netherlands facility and direct collaboration with local cross-functional business and technical teams. Role Overview As a Power BI Developer, you will be the core architect of our client’s reporting and data visualization capabilities. You will specialize exclusively in the Microsoft Power BI stack, transforming complex data from multiple sources into interactive, high-performance visual insights. Operating within an Agile environment, you will work closely on-site with data engineers, product owners, and executive stakeholders to gather business requirements, design optimized semantic data models, and deploy intuitive dashboards that monitor key performance indicators (KPIs). Key Responsibilities · Dashboard & Report Development: Design, develop, and deploy interactive, visually compelling, and high-performance dashboards exclusively using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. · Advanced DAX & Power Query: Write and optimize complex DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for custom measures, calculated columns, and time-intelligence functions. Utilize Power Query (M formula language) for robust data extraction and transformation. · Data Modeling: Architect robust tabular data models and dimensional models (Star/Snowflake schemas) within Power BI to ensure high reporting performance and intuitive self-service for business users. · Power BI Service Administration: Manage enterprise Power BI Service environments, including workspace governance, deployment pipelines, implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) and Object-Level Security (OLS), configuring data gateways, and scheduling refreshes. · Data Integration: Connect Power BI to diverse data sources within the Microsoft ecosystem (Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Lake, Fabric) and third-party APIs or legacy databases. · Stakeholder Collaboration: Translate complex business requirements from Dutch stakeholders into clear technical specifications, wireframes, and ultimately, production-ready reports. Mandatory Candidate Requirements · Language Proficiency: Professional, fluent proficiency in Dutch (spoken and written) is mandatory (minimum CEFR B2/C1 level). Candidates must be able to conduct all day-to-day work, elicit requirements directly from Dutch business stakeholders, present findings, and collaborate cross-functionally entirely in Dutch. Professional working proficiency in English is also required. · Work Arrangement: 100% On-site. Candidates must work full-time at the client’s designated location in the Netherlands. Hybrid or remote arrangements are not offered for this role. · Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management, Business Analytics, or a related technical field. · Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5+ years of demonstrable commercial experience operating specifically as a Power BI Developer, handling end-to-end report lifecycles. · Core Competencies: Expert-level proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and SQL. Strong understanding of enterprise data modeling and UI/UX best practices for dashboard design. · Work Authorization: Must be legally eligible to work in the Netherlands, or qualify for the Dutch Highly Skilled Migrant (Kennismigrant) scheme. Core Responsibilities

Develop and deploy high-performance Power BI dashboards and reports, using DAX, Power Query, and dimensional data models to transform data from Microsoft and third-party sources. Administer Power BI Service environments and collaborate with Dutch stakeholders and technical teams to translate business needs into production-ready reporting.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant technical or analytics field, 3–5+ years of commercial Power BI development experience, and expert proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and SQL. Candidates must be fluent in Dutch, proficient in English, able to work full-time on-site in the Netherlands, and legally eligible to work there or qualify for the Highly Skilled Migrant scheme.
