Key Skills
Job Description
Function name: E&I Engineer (Electrical & Instrumentation) Who we are We are a young, fast-moving EPC company delivering greenfield industrial installations around the world. We work with a flat hierarchy and a lean way of working: short lines, quick decisions and real ownership. Your ideas count, and you will see them in the projects we build. The role As E&I Engineer you are involved in our projects from the first design basis to the final handover. You steer external engineering companies and contractors, keep a clear overview of the design, and follow it up critically. When needed, you roll up your sleeves and do the electrical and instrumentation engineering yourself on large installations. You are present at commissioning, so you see your design come to life. What you will do • Manage and coordinate external engineering firms and subcontractors on electrical and instrumentation scope: scope definition, planning, quality. • Keep the overview of the E&I design across disciplines, and make sure it stays consistent, buildable and in line with client requirements and standards. • Review and approve design deliverables such as single-line diagrams, load lists, cable schedules, P&ID’s, instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, I/O lists, control philosophies and hook-up drawings. • Perform E&I engineering yourself where it adds value: conceptual and detailed design, specifications, sizing, selection of equipment and instruments. • Support procurement: technical bid evaluations, vendor document review and technical clarifications. • Follow up on construction, installation, FAT/SAT and pre-commissioning activities. • Take part in commissioning and start-up on site, and support the transition to operations. • Bring in your own ideas to improve our engineering methods, standards, tools and way of working. • Work closely with process, mechanical, piping, civil and project management colleagues. What we are looking for • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation or a related field. • Experience in E&I engineering within industrial, process, energy or similar large installations, ideally in an EPC or contractor environment. • Hands-on experience with greenfield projects, from design through to commissioning. • Good knowledge of relevant standards (for example IEC, ISA, ATEX/IECEx) and of power distribution, control systems (PLC/DCS/SCADA), field instrumentation and hazardous area design. • Experience managing external parties and reviewing technical deliverables. • Proactive, hands-on and comfortable taking ownership; you thrive in a flat organization with little hierarchy. • Willing to travel internationally and on site for commissioning. • Excellent command of English; Dutch and other languages are a plus. What we offer • A key role in real greenfield projects, from start to finish. • A flat organization with short lines and a lot of freedom to contribute your own ideas. • A lean way of working, without unnecessary bureaucracy. • International exposure and varied projects. • A young, dynamic and ambitious team with room to grow. • Competitive salary and conditions.
