We are looking for an experienced Senior Functional Business Analyst to support an international company's IT portfolio management function on an interim basis. The role focuses on SAFe Portfolio Management, demand management and strategic business analysis, ensuring that business initiatives are clearly defined, evaluated and ready for delivery. You will work closely with senior business and IT stakeholders, bridging the gap between business strategy, portfolio governance and functional architecture. Only B2B contract Place of Work: Hybrid – Netherlands (onsite at least every second week) Responsibilities Support SAFe Portfolio Management processes and portfolio governance. Manage and structure incoming business and IT initiatives. Analyse business needs, scope, value, risks and dependencies. Support initiative prioritisation and strategic decision-making. Facilitate workshops with senior business and IT stakeholders. Prepare business cases, functional requirements and decision-ready documentation. Translate complex business requirements into structured initiatives. Ensure initiatives are ready for handover to delivery teams. Collaborate with portfolio managers, business analysts and functional architects. Improve demand management and portfolio processes. The position focuses on strategic analysis and initiative readiness rather than hands-on development or delivery ownership. Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, Strategic Business Analyst or IT Portfolio Manager. Experience with IT portfolio governance, demand management and prioritisation. Knowledge of SAFe, Lean Portfolio Management or Agile methodologies. Strong requirements engineering and business process analysis skills. Experience working with senior management and business stakeholders. Ability to structure complex initiatives and prepare decision-making documentation. ERP experience is a strong advantage, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365. Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills. Fluent English. Core Responsibilities

Support SAFe portfolio governance and demand management by structuring business and IT initiatives, assessing their value, risks, scope, and dependencies, and supporting prioritization. Facilitate stakeholder workshops, prepare business cases and decision-ready requirements, and ensure initiatives are ready for handover to delivery teams.

Requirements

Candidates need at least five years of experience in business analysis, functional analysis, strategic analysis, or IT portfolio management, with experience in portfolio governance, demand management, and prioritization. Strong requirements engineering, process analysis, stakeholder communication, and knowledge of SAFe or Agile are expected; ERP experience, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365, is an advantage, and fluent English is required.
