As Senior Appian Developer, you will play a key role in developing our new Appian platform. You will design solutions, establish technical standards and work closely with IT colleagues and business stakeholders across different countries. This is an opportunity to help build a new platform from the ground up, with plenty of room to influence technical decisions and future development. What will you do? Your responsibilities will include: designing, developing and maintaining scalable Appian applications to support our international customs operations; leading the development of process models, SAIL interfaces, business rules, reports and dashboards; designing and implementing integrations with internal systems, customer platforms and external systems using REST, SOAP and EDI; defining technical standards, reusable components and development best practices; contributing to AI-driven automation, intelligent document processing and process optimisation; working closely with business analysts, customs specialists and other stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions; mentoring developers, reviewing code and supporting testing and deployments; ensuring application performance, security and reliability. What do you bring? We are looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a practical, solution-oriented mindset. You enjoy taking ownership, sharing knowledge and working in an international environment. You bring: at least 4 years of hands-on Appian development experience, including senior or lead responsibilities; strong knowledge of Appian process models, SAIL interfaces, records, expression rules, decision rules and integrations; solid experience with REST/SOAP integrations, SQL databases (PostgreSQL and MariaDB) and BPMN; working knowledge of Java and Java frameworks; familiarity with Agile development, DevOps practices and source control; the ability to lead technical discussions, establish development standards and mentor colleagues; an analytical, structured and pragmatic approach to solving complex technical challenges; excellent command of English, both spoken and written, is essential; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage. Experience in customs, trade compliance, logistics or another regulated environment is a strong advantage. Appian certification, knowledge of EDI, AI, Process Mining, Data Fabric or cloud platforms would also be valuable. Core Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable Appian applications, including process models, interfaces, rules, reports, dashboards, and integrations for international customs operations. Establish technical standards, contribute to AI-driven automation and process optimization, mentor developers, and ensure application performance, security, and reliability.

Requirements

Requires at least four years of hands-on Appian development experience, including senior or lead responsibilities, with strong knowledge of Appian components, integrations, SQL databases, and BPMN. Candidates should also have working knowledge of Java, familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and source control, strong technical leadership and problem-solving skills, and excellent spoken and written English.
