This is the core of the role. You can take part in a 24x7 on-call rota. This is a contract role with Unolabs (3-month contracts, renewed quarterly). It is not a ZZP / freelance assignment. About the role Unolabs is hiring an F5 specialist Security Engineer for a network security programme at a client in the banking sector in the Netherlands. The project has just started and is expected to run for 12 months or more. Work is mostly remote, with visits to client sites in Amstelveen and Amersfoort whenever the client asks. What you will do Be the subject-matter expert for F5 and load balancing, and also for Palo Alto Design and implement F5 (LTM / ASM) and Palo Alto solutions Develop Ansible playbooks, use Terraform, and work with Git Work alongside engineers on Check Point, Cisco ASA and Cisco ESA (IronPort) Take part in the 24x7 on-call rota What we are looking for Several years of F5 design and implementation, at a proven senior level Palo Alto expertise Certifications, for example PCNSE and F5-CTS-LTM / ASM (senior: PCNSC, F5-CSE) Automation experience: Ansible playbook development, Terraform, Git Practical examples of F5 work you designed and delivered Banking or financial-services experience is a plus Contract 3-month contracts, renewed quarterly; expected duration 12+ months Based in the Netherlands, mostly remote, client site visits in Amstelveen and Amersfoort as required Interview focus Proven senior F5 knowledge, discussed through practical examples from your own work. Core Responsibilities
Serve as the F5 and load-balancing subject-matter expert, and design and implement F5 LTM/ASM and Palo Alto solutions. Develop Ansible playbooks, use Terraform and Git, collaborate with engineers working on other security platforms, and participate in a 24x7 on-call rota.
Requirements
Candidates must live in the Netherlands, be legally authorized to work there without sponsorship, hold or be able to obtain a VOG, and have proven senior-level hands-on F5 design and implementation experience. Palo Alto expertise, automation experience with Ansible, Terraform, and Git, relevant certifications, and availability for a 24x7 on-call rota are also required; banking or financial-services experience is a plus.
